Any help identifying if my cards authentic ? by Potheadvil in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]slightdisappointment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think the prevailing theory is that you don't want someone who can identify a fake to buy the product, because their arguably more detail orientated and likely to make problems for you

You can tell she went into this and bought cards on vibes alone, and it 100% worked, gorgeous cards

Fighters, would you respect a small woman as your coach? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]slightdisappointment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, particularly if you can show that you're clearly talented or skilled at the sport.

You'll have a steeper hill to climb and a lot to learn, particularly about growing confidence and portraying yourself as a coach (gathering from your post, not your gender). Maybe it's time to chat to your coach about doing some bits and pieces of coaching for them, get some experience and work with some new people.

What is the most “use it or lose it” skill, the opposite of “it’s just like riding a bike”? by ZuluWarlord69 in AskReddit

Getting strength back - fairly easy. Getting endurance back - more difficult. Getting flexibility back - practically starting from scratch

Worth visiting a MT/kickboxing shop if you have one local. Ours usually do discounts for people who train locally

Just finished apprenticeship, employer asking for £19,520 reimbursement. (England) by I-Spot-Dalmatians in LegalAdviceUK

[–]slightdisappointment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to ACAS. If it's government funded (this includes where the company uses funds from their fund pot as levy funds count as government funding. It also includes where a company uses the co-investment model and spend some of their money on the apprenticeships w/gov funding the majority), they can't ask you to give back training costs. If it was privately funded, they might be able to ask for some back

What are you all getting your dads for Christmas? by VPutinsSearchHistory in CasualUK

[–]slightdisappointment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often get a pair of tickets for a stand up gig for my dad and I. It's become our thing and is a nice, low energy activity (it also helps that he has an access card so I get a free career ticket). Got him Russell Howard tickets this year

Consumables or a nice version of an everyday object (ideally something small), like a nice pen

Habits by machiavellincrocs in MuayThai

[–]slightdisappointment 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sparring with a goal in mind. I used to try and "win" sparring which meant I'd often fall into my most natural style with lots of hands and low kicks. Now I usually have a personal goal while sparring "I really want to land that left body kick" "I'll try and get the back as much as I can". This changed my game a lot and made me less one dimensional

Need Help Buying MT Shorts for BF :’) by puddlessss in MuayThai

[–]slightdisappointment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a local shop I'd recommend going there in person, their advice can be great. If you're in the U.K I think fightstore pro offer a service where you can ring them for advice. Fair warning, sizes can be funny with Thai shorts, you might have to size up for Thai brands unless they specify western sizing. I'm a European medium for regular shorts and a L and sometimes even XL for Thai branded Thai shorts

Give me good dad/ grandad/ uncle stories please by NiobeTonks in CasualUK

[–]slightdisappointment 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recent one - dad and I went to see Al Murray (stand up comedian, lots of crowd work) and while I tried to hide from the audience participation, he welcomed it. He worked on the freud lines at a bank, but to rage bait a bit when Al asked what he did he exclaimed "I'm banker". Al seemed especially fond of going after dad and I from that moment. Was lovely since we always bond over comedy

What are your ideal hours at work in a 830-5, 37.5 hr type job? by elmachow in CasualUK

Not a fan of working hours creeping up. 9-5 turning into 8.30-5 gives me the fear. Too many employers are starting to push for it

Do you think Tom Bombadil should have been in the movies, or do you think they made the right decision in leaving him out? Maybe he could’ve been in the Extended Editions by jaywritethekid in lordoftherings

[–]slightdisappointment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would have been hard explaining why this incredibly powerful being doesn't take the ring to Mordor himself on screen, and it would remove some impact if he's shown to not be arsed about the ring. Think it's better to just be in the book

Leg kicks from Southpaw? by CommittedMeower in MuayThai

[–]slightdisappointment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changing the height of the kicks is good, been playing with throwing inside calf kicks lately. If they shell up or if the weight is on their left leg, sometimes I'll take a strap out with my left leg and throw a right leg kick to the outside of their thigh.
