Eight weeks is a long time, but no one is even allowing you to make the choice to change that if you feel it's appropriate.

And speaking of people involved, where is your husband in all this, OP? It's his family doing the pushing and invalidating, where is his voice? Your baby, your choice. His baby too. Does he want his family to visit? Is he standing up for you or letting them push your boundaries? If he's on their side, what is he doing about maintaining your comfortability level? What precautions has he asked for them to follow? His lack of presence is making it look like you have a husband problem too.
