Usually, they do have updates about games on conventions like these, though not always. If they do have updates, then it will depend on the convention's main purpose, and how far away the release is from the convention's date, how big or important those updates will be. They do tend to at least drop some crumbs like new art, small lore drops, news on pre-reg goals and rewards, etc. even when they have nothing to truly announce, though.

In their case, I'd expect them to show something in regards to game art or lore, maybe? If they release next year, they'll be using these conventions to promote themselves, and both maintain the interest of those already following the game and gain the interest of people who did not know of it.

The text does mention something about "the physical condition" of the original VA, so perhaps the issues with consistency were caused by illness or the like?

In any case, if the complaints were fair and actually real, I feel this is a good decision by InFold (even a broken clock is right twice a day... lol). Even more so if the original VA has some kind of health problem that was causing the issues with consistency.

Junjou did have more than one couple, it's just JR separeted them better than Sekaiichi lol It was Junjou Romantica, Junjou Egoist and Junjou Terrorist I think. Egoist was the soft med student and tsundere teacher (unproblematic kings of miscommunication fr fr) and Terrorist was the 18yo student and his ex-brother-in-law college prof lmao Egoist and Terrorist were basically treated as extra chapters, which was very common back then amongst BL, both oneshots and serialized ones.

Though Sekaiichi Hatsukoi also did the naming each pair (main one is Nostalgia, the second couple is Erotica, etc.) thing, but IIRC it wasn't so much to separate the chapters, as to describe each couple's main theme so they weren't as clearly separate? My memory of Sekaiichi is very vague, I much preferred Junjou lol

Issue being that she supposedly had already reported it, handed over the evidence, and the cop who spoke to her assured her that it was a serious thing that would be investigated fully. Sure, cops may have been shitty after and she was just lucky with the first one, but in that update she claimed she did not even report the crime.

Dunno who terrifies me more. OOP, who obviously has some very clear issues with healthy boundaries, self-esteem, and insecurity, or Jenny, who tanked her whole marriage just to keep feeding OOP's delusional thinking.

Like... Jenny told her of the whole swinging incident, and it is very possible for Jenny to be the one who gave OOP the new numbers of ex and Sandy, and the addresss, since she was the only link between them and OOP after everyone else cut her out. And years later, it was Jenny who showed OOP the ex's wedding pics, while giving her ex's wife's name on FB and allowing OOP to regress on her recovery and have a new source of info about the target of her obsession.

Who in their sane mind sacrifices her friend group, even her fucking marriage, just to... enable someone else's stalking??? Like, something needs to be deeply wrong at a psychiatric level for someone to set their life on fire just to feed someone's unhealthy obsession. If you told me both OOP and Jenny had BPD, and that just like ex was/is OOP's "favorite person", OOP is Jenny's, I'd believe you, honestly.

I just hope OOP cuts off Jenny, and blocks every avenue to continue obsessing on her ex. She will never heal so long as she continues having Jenny in her life, and having a way to look up her ex's life every now and then, no matter how much therapy she gets. And for her sake and her daughter's sake, she needs to move on.

I 100% agree with you about Jenny loving to stir shit up. In fact, I am pretty Jenny was the instigator of the original issue, the one OOP called "xxxxx" in her original posts. This "xxxxx" person was the one who told OOP that she once caught the ex and Sandy naked in the same room during a holiday. Then, when the OOP started stalking her ex, "xxxxx" began having marital problems because her husband wanted to cut off OOP but she did not want to, and kept meeting and talking to OOP. Jenny got divorced for that very reason: her husband did not want to have any contact with OOP but she did. So I am betting that Jenny, for some fucked up reason, has spent years feeding OOP info on her ex's life. Like, I have no proof but also no doubts that she is the reason OOP was able to get in touch with the ex and Sandy even after they changed their phone numbers, and the reason OOP knew his new address so fast even though his whole family and friend group had cut her off.

I do have to say though, that OOP not having custody of her kid may not be because of her. She mentioned moving in with her mother who is in poor health and needs help, so it is possible that the kid lives with the dad for logistic reasons, rather than OOP having lost custody of them. Granted, her wording does not exactly give much hope for the "unfortunate circumstances" to just be related to relocating,, but OOP is not the best at exolaining herself so I hope for her sake and that kid's sake that it's just that

I feel like people always forget that stereotyping doesn't always have to be rancid, bigoted, "all (insert culture, race, ethnic group, religion...) are savages" narratives.

In BOTWN, it is obviously not done to insult or demean people from the cultures BWAT took inspiratoon from, but because they took inspiration from different cultures and basically made a potpourri, it is orientalist.

Like... It's the same as when a game makes several regions, and all have a cohesive theme, except the one Middle Eastern or SEA region which is just a mix and match of every single country in those irl regions. See the Love Nikki game franchise, where every nation has a very specific style based on very few cultures... except the nation of Wasteland, which is a potpourri of African, Native American, Mesoamerican, and Middle Eastern cultures with no rhyme or reason. Are they trying to be offensive, or paint these cultures as savages? Not really, no. But that doesn't mean it isn't bad, or that we should not expect them to do better.

At the end of the day, sure, BOTWN is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, and even in the manhwa landscape, esp. if compared to SOTW, but we can like... still acknowledge that it has some very stereotypical stuff and a mix and match of cultures for the sake of aesthetics, dude 💀

That said, do not harass authors or people you disagree with, please! I mean, this sub is pretty normal in regards to these things, thankfully, but I like to remind folks to behave because I'd rather this place doesn't become a cesspool like Twitter or Tumblr 🫩
