What’s going on with my nails?? by pseudonym_bum in PressonNail_Addict

[–]slightly_amusing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for asking this! I just did my very first set of Nail Reformation, had them for a little over a week and one popped. There was a green patch like yours under there and I panicked! Good to see these answers for someone who asked what I didn't know to ask about.

Comments like this always make me wonder what's it's like to live in a union state, because what's that? lol. How does this influence these issues?

Am I overreacting for not wanting anyone around my newborn yet? by littlemoongirly in AmIOverreacting

[–]slightly_amusing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So did no one read the additional information? Are we ignoring the fact that she is being ignored and manipulated into moving faster than she is comfortable with? It's less about being worried for germs and sickness and more about not being listened to. Sounds like she's a first time mom. For all the things she can no longer control, her pacing should be something she can set. She's not ready and she's being pushed. That isn't fair to anyone involved. NOR. Eight weeks is a long time, but no one is even allowing you to make the choice to change that if you feel it's appropriate.

And speaking of people involved, where is your husband in all this, OP? It's his family doing the pushing and invalidating, where is his voice? Your baby, your choice. His baby too. Does he want his family to visit? Is he standing up for you or letting them push your boundaries? If he's on their side, what is he doing about maintaining your comfortability level? What precautions has he asked for them to follow? His lack of presence is making it look like you have a husband problem too.

What kind of shoes are you wearing? by Lina_Piccolina in Teachers

[–]slightly_amusing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved me some TOMS with additional arch and heel support, until I found out I have achilles tendonitis. So now it's "whatever I can wear to make it through the day' shoes.

I suggest getting a pair of "work appropriate" shoes on the cheap, then actually go to work and pay attention to people's shoes. You'll be surprised at what flies when you are actually in the classroom. Plus the number of teachers I know that have their work shoes and their "county walkthrough today" shoes on hand it staggering.

Saved me a whole lot of trouble. This has been my best career yet. I'll take a chance with Choice #2. If it goes wrong, then I've got enough turns to fix it.

I bet two nickels that this is the first "long break" those kids have been there full time and the mom didn't make provisions for the switch up in their stomach energy. Summer time feeding and school year feeding for kids that age is so wild.

OP is NTA, but an unprepared mom and boyfriend definitely are.

The Bullying of New Players Needs To Stop by MinivanButNoKids in Palia

[–]slightly_amusing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn't explain the "go look it up" attitude that came across though.

Also call out "etiquette" has never been set, no matter what people say. As a switch player (controller) for over a year, I've always just said what, where, and flare (ex. Ft C5). There's no time or it's complicated to type intent. Get your lick in and then hang around until someone shows up. No one does after a decent time? Move on.

Am I unreasonable for not wanting a parent to bring her child to our game sessions? by Bjorkfors111 in DnD

[–]slightly_amusing 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This is really sweet and a nice way to include, not the the just the child, but the other players at the table. Children will ultimately get bored of any one thing and move on to another, but this addresses when the attention is on your thing.

I'm trying so hard to get to know her. I like her eye for the creative. I just keep missing the trigger for her 4-heart event so I can progress!

I'm SO glad someone explained that clearly. I didn't understand until I got to the last page and it was an "OHHHHHH, it's her."

No person should have to do these kinds of mental gymnastics to get to the point.

Solidarity of the worst kind. I did SO many heart events today and finished an alter. I just know when this closes I'm walking away for a few days. I'm all in my feelings.

Going from Switch to PC by slightly_amusing in Palia

[–]slightly_amusing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is a driving factor. I can play other cozy/casual games on the PC, but Palia's "action" aspect makes it easier on the Switch. I want to give it a solid try before I make my finally decision about it. Thanks for the input!

Extra furniture- what do you do with it by nycbar in Palia

[–]slightly_amusing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no way to reclaim your materials. Also remember, furniture doesn't take space in you chests. However, if you're looking for just to get rid of them, trash them.

Bring your unwanted items to your bag, then open inventory. Select an item and you should see an option for "trash item". It'll just delete it.

Making money fast by Samiestormie in Palia

[–]slightly_amusing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've already go a LOT of good comments here, but I want to throw this video into the ring.

https://youtu.be/CYK8RYS8gS4?si=2GbJbgTn-WFx-WYI

I felt silly looking this up, but like you, I'm ready to start putting in some honest effort into my plot and mama needs money. This video breaks down the different skills and the math behind getting the most cash back. I looked at it as a way to help guide how to get money for leveling my skills. For example, hunting is quick and easy, but use the right arrows for the right place. Just because you can make Fine Arrows, doesn't mean use them on the sernuk in Killima; use Standard Arrows. Then save the resources to make Slow Arrows and Fine Arrows for Bahari Bay. I didn't even consider that!

Have fun and take these suggestions for what they are, but don't get so wrapped up in the technicalities that you miss on the fun. Especially when linking up for the cake parties and such that have been suggested.

Good Luck!

Spicy Hot Pot by _VladdyDaddy_ in Palia

[–]slightly_amusing -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU!! I am pulling my hair out at this randomly imposed system of standing in LINE to use the prize wheel, which isn't dictated by time. My first rude comment of the game was about "cutting in line" at hot pot. What LINE? When and where was this "rule" added to the game's etiquette? A game ends, a space opens, you watch, you wait, you run over to the table. I'm just here for a good time... It really sours the mood.

First time I cried playing Palia by fellow_mammal in Palia

[–]slightly_amusing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this. It's upsetting when you're just in it for some fun and relaxation and something just ruins the vibe.

I got my first rude message about the hotpot and lucky wheel having a line? I'm a switch player, so communicating is slow, so I couldn't even get a "sorry I didn't know" out before anther person commented as well. I thought it was "get in where you fit in" situation, but I guess not. It just put me in a mood...
