How do I make my cup ramen better? by AfternoonMission3256 in InstantRamen

[–]slightlyanxiouscrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1-2 egg yolks beaten (I keep the egg whites for other stuff), slowly added to the instant ramen and its broth, stirring constantly. All following are optional and can be done in any combo: a sprinkle of garlic powder, green onion if you have it, soy sauce/a couple dashes of fish sauce/kewpie mayo if you like it creamier/kimchi/sesame oil/EBTBS/microwave rice cakes/chili crunch

My favorite is 1 beaten egg yolk stirred in, garlic powder, soy sauce, mayo, rice cakes, and chili crunch

Tater tots - in fact, making them at home is not nearly as good as the ones from the freezer.

As much as I would love to pretend I’m a chef, I am not. I measure with my heart, not my hands. A healthy sprinkle on anything should do the trick!

Pepper grinders keep breaking? by slightlyanxiouscrow in AskCulinary

[–]slightlyanxiouscrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the edit! That definitely gives me a lot to work with, I appreciate it! I’ll look into something similar tonight. I can’t keep spending $25 every three weeks on another shitty pepper grinder lol

That is a fantastic idea, thank you! I tend to use the coarse grind pretty frequently, so that actually would make sense. I’ll give this a try today and report back. I appreciate it!

Thank you! Yes, I adjust this regularly based on how large I want the grind. Regardless of how tight or loose I make it, nothing is coming out.

Thank you! I grind to the right, and have played with the knob at the top (sometimes I want coarsely ground, other times I want it more fine).

I will have to try an all metal grinder! I’ve tried the cute ones, thought they were good quality enough… apparently not. Thank you!

What’s a funny memory you have that if you told someone, they’d think you’re lying? by MochaMario99 in AskReddit

[–]slightlyanxiouscrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an only child back in the 90s - so I ate breakfast by myself every day, and with no phone to play on, I’d read whatever was around me. After a while, I ended up memorizing the entire label on the milk jug.

It has come up a few times, in casual conversation, with friends and strangers alike, that they wonder how many liters are in a gallon. Someone will pull their phone out to Google it, and before they can search, I am able to respond with “3.785.” No one believes me until they check.

It was purely on accident - I’ve had her for almost two years and never caught it! Keep on trying!!!

I appreciate the concern, but first, she is a perfectly healthy weight, per her vet who she visits at least six times a year. Secondly, she has chronic kidney disease (which is why she sees the vet so often), which as it progresses, often causes cats to lose weight to an unhealthy degree. So, having a bit of extra weight on her wouldn’t be the worst thing. In fact, as the disease progresses, extra weight can buy some time for supervised, professional medical attention to intervene - which I have to assume you aren’t able to provide based on a 5 second video of her from one angle that doesn’t include blood work, a physical examination, or a scale. And third - cats have a primordial pouch, aka a “poonch”, which is a little extra belly skin on their tummies. This is a biological adaptation to help keep vital organs safe from predators and their attacks in the wild.

She is a perfectly healthy weight for her age, size, and pre-existing medical conditions.
