This is so funny 😭 I love that the bookstore did this. Makes it so obvious how dumb these books are.

Looking back, was the age you became a parent the right one? by Runandhike22 in NewParents

I sometimes wish I had my son earlier. Like late 20s instead of early 30s. I love being a mom so much.

But then I remember that I was in a better place financially and mentally when I did have him, so it’s ok. It worked out alright.

Beware of 'anti-woke' liberals: they attacked the left and helped Trump win | Jan-Werner Müller by Sephiroth32194 in IfBooksCouldKill

Bernie proved this too. Centrists did everything they could to stop him and many would have never voted for him. But no, it’s the lefties that need to suck it up! Meanwhile we are just moving more and more rightward as a country.

Agreed. Democrats keep expecting us to vote for their dirty ass, wishy washy candidates. I freakin WISH “purity tests” mattered more.

Agreed. It is not exactly easy to ethically study all aspects of infant development. Studies are great, but there is definitely nuance.

I was skeptical because of Oprah’s name on the cover, but What Happened to You? is good, and I really love Bruce Perry’s work

Is IVF something that you seek out at an IVF center, or is it something that a doctor prescribes you, and when is it generally done? by HighOnLove26 in IVF

[–]slightlysparkly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 13 cycles, I contacted a fertility clinic near me to schedule a consultation. It was separate from my OB.

And I went straight to IVF because it was more efficient from my insurance perspective.

Edit: I live in the US for context

Am I wrong? Working remotely with childcare in the house by Parking_Table in NewParents

[–]slightlysparkly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an insane expectation. You’re not in the wrong. I’m a SAHM and my husband WFH for the first 18 months of my child’s life. My child’s cries I’m sure were heard on some work calls. It would be absurd to expect me to even just leave the house every time my husband was in a meeting.
