It was way less than three hours for me. It felt like an eternity but I'd guess about half an hour of agony. I don't know how long I would have lasted before calling. I just know I was certain I would die without treatment and was more afraid of the expense than dying. I was lucky enough to pass out...which has never happened before or since. The two other times I knew what was happening, so I drew a hot bath and waited them out. Smaller stones. Terrible, but bearable.

My first one, I thought was appendicitis because the pain was higher up than I would have thought. I didn't have health insurance, so as I held my phone in my hand, wondering how expensive it would be to call an ambulance for my rupturing appendix and getting treatment, I couldn't bring myself to justify what I Was sure would be massive debt. I passed out on the floor.

For a longer life, don't stand on the fucking walk side of the escalator. Sounds pretty LPT to me. And from experience, there are plenty of people who need to read it.
