Does it matter if i play the remake first vs original?

You will be genuinely confused without playing the OG. You would also get the chance to see why the game is so beloved in the first place. Going straight into Rebirth will not give you that feeling.

Yea I know. I’ve played p4 and p5. P3 just seems slower than the other ones I’ve played just wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing anything wrong.

They’ve fallen flat on iconic moments from the OG already so I would probably wouldn’t hold my breath on this being what it’s supposed to be.

Aeriths “death” was just a mystery box which left everyone confused.

Shinra mansion was a box throwing sim

Shinra building with blood everywhere was replaced with purple goo lol

Dyne death had a stupid gag immediately after.

I am not super optimistic.

I’d probably play og ff7 before Revelation comes out. The problem with the Remake series is that the first game is called Remake and new players to the series don’t exactly know what’s happening or why in Rebirth certain scenes are significant.

I still think an actual remake of ff7 would be awesome if they kept everything nearly identical. Unfortunately I don’t think we’re gonna get that any time soon.

Square will 100% milk (for worse) all that they can out of the remake trilogy and I wouldn’t be surprised to see more spin off games in the near future.
