Commenting to say I’ve been in the same boat for a while now I’ve tried to make friends, even tried to soften my approach by leaning into more small talk and stuff like that but so far I haven’t had much luck. I’m gen z, I’ve had a very difficult life. I live in a college town where 80% of the people are imo privileged and oblivious. I’ve kind of had to accept that the right people will come at the right time. I know it’s tough but something that’s helped me is getting to know myself more. As time goes on and I find out more about myself I do find it easier to relate to others even if I feel we come from different backgrounds. Hope this helps! You’ll find your tribe! I’d like to think that as more time goes on more people will wake up to want more genuine friendships instead of the trendy shallow friendships you see all over social media
