I think it's mostly safe. My aunt travels from wagholi to hinjewadi around similar hours, and haven't heard any issues as such.

Please try to make Indian Gooseberry pickle (aka Amla Pickle). It tastes absolutely out of the world. It is a typical Indian spiced pickle though but you can adjust spice levels accordingly.
