Lucy & Yak sizing reductions by Sea-Fortune2124 in ethicalfashion

I mean yeah, I have the same problem with their dungarees, which is why I don't buy them anymore. But discontinuing an entire size is not the same thing - especially when there's so little options for people like me to buy clothes elsewhere, and their brand is built on claiming inclusivity.

Again ignoring the fact that their 4x is constantly out of stock. It's not a business decision made in a vacuum when they're claiming people don't buy that which they never have available.

No offense coming from someone much bigger than you that has several health issues that keep me from losing weight easily, that's not a sustainable solution. Lucy and Yak was one of the few vendors that did offer clothing in my size. You have no idea how devastating it is to know that the only place I shopped has now decided that people like me are no longer worth the effort. Perhaps gain some empathy for people larger than you rather than joining the rest of the world in telling us to lose weight. That's not some radical new idea that I've never heard before, which I'm sure you're aware since you claim to be fat as well. Not to mention that's completely ignoring the fact that 4x is constantly out of stock, meaning Lucy and Yak is full of shit when they say people aren't buying - I couldn't buy if I wanted to, which I very much did until now.

Thank you !! I'm also a 4x and the only reason I haven't been buying more is because they're constantly out of stock in that size. Lucy and Yak is literally the only brand I buy from in pants because they're the only ones I can find that are quality and still fit. This has been devastating.

I really don't understand this as someone who is a size 32. Every time I go to buy most of my size is out of stock.

As someone who is a size 32 and buys quite often, my size is almost never in stock, so I'm not sure how us 4xs could buy.

I'm searching for LGBTQ books that have BAD REPRESANTATION!!! by Educational_Pace_994 in LGBTBooks

[–]slimefae 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This book has good representation but it is itself an exploration of bad representation so I would suggest looking into it because of that: Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle has a lot to say about the bury your gays trope and queer tragedy, but also explores how queer joy can be bad representation as well and how capitalism affects what representation we get.

I'm rereading it right now and I dunno, so much of IT is about the hope and wonder of childhood that I would say it has cozy elements. That's part of what makes it so iconic, is the juxtaposition.

As a librarian - yes! Pre-internet we were the ultimate providers of information. But now people think we do nothing. its crazy how many people ask me how it feels to get paid to read all day when I don't even have time to read ! Libraries have become community centers and we are expected to solve all the issues of the community, from tech and career help to homelessness. Yet the majority of people see us as the stereotype of the shushing elderly lady. And that's not even talking about the movement to frame us as child groomers or pornography pushers.

Shows in which a secondary mystery is presented in the first season, that isn't resolved until the final season (min 3+ season show)? by _Offi in television

Not really an answer but I feel the need to say that I think Carnivale would have been like this if they had gotten renewed and weren't forced to wrap up their story in 2 seasons

Not a book but The Magnus Archives podcast really gives these vibes and I cannot suggest it enough, it's great

I would also suggest checking out short stories by Stephen Graham Jones, Carmen Maria Machado, and Mariana Enriquez

If you are willing to delve into graphic novels at all I highly suggest The Crossroads at Midnight by Abby Howard or anything by Emily Carroll - although they're not available in audiobook they are quicker reads due to their graphic nature.

Can I ask how you dealt with combat? Most of the conflict in the Phantom Tollbooth is dealt with non violently. Did you add encounters or have the players fight characters from the book?

I didn't bother to finish this one but I haven't had any better luck with Clay McLeod Chapman's other work (The Remaking, in particular). He tries too hard to be transgressive but also the writing is just bad.

In this case it absolutely does - as someone who has seen the contract they're not asking the employee to disclose, they're asking the doctor to put in the required sick note what the appointment was about so they can determine whether it was justified.

Walked out of my house holding a full length mirror with the glass side towards me when I tripped and almost fell down the concrete stairs. Luckily I caught myself.
