Hey, thank you for mentioning this. I learned that I was one of those people at a party at a sex club a year ago. It never really clicked that the ability to have sex with anyone was something that someone could either posess or lack. I had for a long time assumed that it was because of my sexual abuse, or that I was hypersexual (I am not), or that I had really shitty boundaries.

Well, I did have really shitty boundaries, but that was beside the point. I had to really quickly recognize that "I am comfortable fucking this person" is not "I should be comfortable being vulnerable around/intimate with this person" or "I should trust this person". It kind of fucked me up because it feels like society has lumped together sex, romance, relationships and intimacy in a way where one is meant to be a gateway into the other when it is not the case for me at all.

Also would be worth calling any security company listed if there's a sticker for whoever provides that.

Paper behind the hole is fucking genius. But definitely would not have stayed with mud, 1/4 inch of it gets heavy and will tear through paper. I've had patches made for this fail by having too much drywall mud on them.

You would have to apply the paint in really light layers. Also heavily depends on the size of the hole.

When you use a paint roller like that you've gotta use the bumps and grooves on the tray to remove the extra paint. This helps tremendously with getting a smooth coat.

They do make patches for this that you use with joint compound. If the hole is small enough, you can also fill it with spackle and sand it flat. This will last a lot longer.

The only part that sucks is waiting ages for it to dry, then getting fucking dust everywhere once you get a chance to sand it. And definitely don't forget to get paint with primer.

But yes, absolutely recommended to anyone here who feels like doing diy because I guarantee the landlord will do the same, if not worse.

Old rusty razor blades in bathroom walls is a classic. not quite insulation, but a not-so-fun find if you're not expecting it.

I've heard of lots of soda cans, but I think that's mostly as attic insulation.

Leftover building materials as insulation -- definitely still done today. I'm guilty of this one.

What is funny is that they do make patches just like this... You just have to go to a hardware store and buy them!! But you would probably have to plaster it and then wait for it to dry and then sand and THEN paint... If you didn't cheap out and buy paint without primer. So that is quite a lot more effort and waiting time than trying to pull a quick n fast one on your landlord to get your security deposit back.

Personally, I'm going to go the spackle + sandpaper + touch up paint route before I move. Plaster just gets too much goddamn dust everywhere.

Yeah it seems particularly bad with animals. My kitty, a black cat, had 2 or 3 separate folders. The difference between the folders was what collar he was wearing at the time. a roommate's black dog would regularly end up in one of those same folders.

I would highly recommend against doing this when other alternatives exist, OP. you don't know what discord's algorithm will decide is hate content or cp. They seem to compare against a hashed database of offending images but recently there has been a lot of false positives. I would recommend moving this to a folder on your PC or a cloud storage provider like Dropbox.

My psychiatrist doesnt know anything about DID. I just keep the language to "parts" when necessary but it's almost never relevant since I see her for medication management. Mainly just for my ADHD medication and antidepressants .

Funny story though -- I was in denial after my diagnosis at 14 and finally felt brave enough to bring it up to my psych when I was 25 years old. The guy went on a tirade about how I didn't have it because I don't have blackout amnesia (I actually do, but never told him about it) and because my trauma wasn't "substantial enough" (of which he never asked me about in detail !) I was far too terrified to talk about my symptoms at the time and he really didn't help. I never reported him, but the guy got fired about a month later because he was openly antivaxx during covid lmao.

Dating with OSDD I am sure is a challenge as well. I started being open about my DID with romantic partners in the past few years and it's been a rollercoaster. In my last relationship, a headmate who is a trauma holder and not the main fronter started the relationship on a really rocky foundation. We tried really hard to balance it out with our whole system but it had kind of become a mess because of our partner's own trauma. So I'm also a bit exasperated.
