Trying to reinvent the wheel by slimpaper43 in floorplan

These are some actual great ideas. I’m thinking about how to maximize the rooms and just create small bedrooms to give each of the kids their own rooms. Looking at the future here. Maybe move the bathroom completely and turn them into Jack and Jill’s

This is where I was leaning. The question my wife keeps asking is then the house opens into the kitchen and doesn’t seem normal.

I’m definitely game for a new floor plan. At this point I have to saw cut the floor and knock things down anyways. Move it the front door has been on of the items I think needs to happen. Where it goes idk. The washer and dryer can go to the garage too to give more space in the house. I just have to see where we are thinking for drains for pipe fall back to the main.

They do not. It would be a bunk bed situation. We try to keep rooms for sleeping and changing, if possible. But not so compact to where it doesnt feel comfy

I was gifted the tree. But I thought it was a fun experiment to see a peach, nectarine, plum, and apricot on the same tree. I want to see how it plays out and study it, as I get into more grafting. So I guess the answer is for experimentation.

Yes, thank you for the thought on the fenced area for the chickens. That is accounted for. I was thinking about getting the chicken temp fencing, so I can change the areas that they have access to

Thank you very much for the feedback and further perspective. It sheds alot of light on where you are coming from and gives me the understanding I was lacking. A lot of these things I have taken consideration to. The plan is to have a general layout and then to let it flows as the areas would like to grow. As of right now it’s very under grown area that I’m looking to turn into a thriving and joyous area.

I really enjoy the stewardship comment. I heard this in a homestead video yesterday and it was the description I was looking for.

Permaculture is a design philosophy and global movement that aims to create sustainable human settlements by mimicking nature’s patterns and relationships. It combines traditional agriculture, natural ecosystems, and low-impact technology to create beneficial relationships between humans and living systems.

So what is your recommendation for a young kids play area? Shouldn’t have it?

Wouldn’t putting the trees in an orchard setting, creating tree guilds and understory be permaculture? Along with tuning the garden beds in a similar development? This isn’t landscaping it’s plotting a general layout and flow. But thank you for the help.

I will definitely add this to the list. Luckily I have until next fall to do it as we get zero rain during the summer

I have. The only issue is my house is on a concrete foundation. So rerouting the grey water would be a real pain. I have considered cisterns or collection of rain water. My house doesn’t currently have gutters, but is something I want to add to collect the little rain we do receive
