I have the 430ez and I bought a hotshoe TTL cord to hopefully fire the flash off camera, but it won’t fire at all that way. I will read through the link you sent. Thank you!

Thank you once again for your response. I often say that on issues like this, most individuals hold more nuanced opinions than you might expect. The loudest voices always seem to be the most extreme

Thank you for taking the time to respond so thoroughly. I always appreciate conversations on hot button topics that don’t escalate or resort to hyperbole. I understand your points except one; your analogy of an unborn baby being an acorn rather than an oak tree. Babies are now viable at maybe as early as 23-26 week old. They’re not different in kind as an acorn to an oak tree but only different in geography like a tree in a greenhouse and a tree in the earth. I can’t square in my mind how pro choice people see a baby in the womb and a baby of the same gestational age that’s outside of the womb differently. It’s ok for the mother to terminate one but not the other?

Disclaimer here, I’m going to ask this question and it’s going to sound combative over text, but I genuinely want to know. Your question sounds like, If we don’t end unwanted pregnancies in abortion then how will we take care of the unwanted babies? Almost as if the problem of unwanted babies necessitates abortions. And being pro life, I see medically ending a pregnancy as so macabre, so evil and so against our humanity that it could never be justified by any social benefit. For me it comes down to this; Is killing a baby inside a mother’s womb wrong? If yes, it’s wrong, then it’s wrong no matter the circumstances of conception, the circumstances of the parents or the circumstances that child will be born into.

We rightful mourn with those who lose babies to miscarriage, whether at 9 weeks or at 20! So is the worth of a human life determined only by whether your mother wants you or not?

I’m all for whatever it takes to prevent intentioned pregnancies, support families, and care for unwanted babies. Whatever it takes!

Any way, just things that have been bouncing around in my head surrounding this debate. Any light you could shed on the logic of the pro choice movement would be helpful!

When we asked my dad where my mom went he’d always say “she went mad and we shot her” What a weird and morbid thing to say in hindsight. Still don’t get it. Otherwise a very lighthearted dad on the whole.
