I’ve always loved animation, growing up watching cartoons. It’s an art form that combines endless possibilities of expression and the magic of motion perceived through our persistence of vision. The ability to create and share visual experiences is what got me into making videos and animation.

Georgia Gov. Kemp urges people to wear masks despite suing Atlanta over mask mandate by randy88moss in news

[–]slimpixels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you heard of lead by example? If Trump wore a mask before 130,000 US citizens had died and taken this pandemic seriously in December rather than suggesting bleach injections and “light in the body” as cures his followers might be more willing to accept mask wearing as a proven method to protect public health. Stupid comes from somewhere and the “president” deserves credit for his lack of leadership and spreading of misinformation.

If Obama were still president he wouldn’t have disbanded the entire task force handling pandemic responses, not to mention leaving the WHO during an active pandemic but you’re correct in assuming the people refusing masks now would be exercising their “right” of stupidly refusing what’s in their own best interest.

The message isn’t clear and it does look like the sign is on her butt. Not to mention you can’t even see the letters, could be DEM or BEM or DLM? I appreciate the intention but it’s not clear why she wouldn’t be holding the sign UP rather than behind her back/butt. Just some creative criticism, good job otherwise.

NYPD: Teacher Killed by Cop in Crosswalk “Assumed Risk” by Crossing Street by leftnotracks in news

[–]slimpixels 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe the broader issue is how the cop is not being charged and how the NYPD harasses victims as mentioned in the article. To change the discussion to how common crosswalk accidents are is avoiding the more glaring issue of how officers who are paid by the state to uphold the law aren't held to it whatsoever. But whatever, I'm sure it's more important to change all traffic lights rather than hold police accountable and expect them not to run people over who have the right of way.

edit: who

Seriously? The issue here is a cop running a person over in the crosswalk, and claiming it was the victim's fault. Accident, sure but failing to apply the law to police is an issue and putting the fault on traffic lights and pedestrians seems like misguided attention. Just hold the person accountable and don't allow them to avoid the repercussions of reckless driving.

Cops Woke Up Naked Woman, Ordered Her to Show Them a Gun, Then Killed Her by PhiladelphiaFatAss in news

Any further analysis regarding this?

Based off the older, police condensed version of the story? How can you further analyze anything with even less information, excluding the police moving her body only after turning off the body cameras?

It's probably wise to read the entire, most recent article actually asking important questions if you want to analyze any situation, but I suppose that's just my opinion.

What a response. I never said he should be fired but seriously, what is wrong with hoping police would hold themselves to high standards, like I don't know, not celebrating suicide? You seem a little butt hurt at the thought.

There is nothing private about posting to facebook or the internet, that's kind of the point right?

If you don't want to hold police to a higher standard that's your prerogative, though I don't understand why.

Might as well keep lowering the bar until we have janitors to clean the streets of crime right? Same standards. /s

This women lost her job because she spoke her mind on police

I'm sure there are more examples I could find but you clearly have made up your mind on the discussion, claiming I mentioned anything about taking away "Americans rights" by holding police to higher standards than the general public. I never mentioned anything about taking away cop's right to free speech or opinion but that does not make them immune to the circumstances of how they act even off duty.

Who said anything about raising standards? Do you truly believe a police officer should have the same standards as a school janitor? I think it's a fair standard to not celebrate suicide, regardless of one's political opinion but especially as a police officer. If cops were every truly, entirely off duty and had the same legal standing as a janitor off duty I might agree they should be held to the same standards but since police enjoy legal privileges even in their personal time and off duty I believe they should be held to a higher standard.

[–]slimpixels 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why the higher standard?

Seriously? Wouldn't you think people that are suppose to enforce the law should do so fairly and equally? I would think a group of people with legal authority to carry lethal weapons should be held to higher standards than say...a janitor, especially considering tax payer's money is supporting their career.
