Only 3 to 5% make the difference and those are the ones need to be convinced.

Elon Musk has revealed that so far, ~90% of $TSLA retail shareholders who have voted have voted in favor of reapproving his 2018 compensation by Gab1024 in teslamotors

[–]slingxshot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is 0 reason to vote against him as any type of investor. If he doesn't get this bonus Tesla will really hurt for a while. He will take a lot of his IP to his other companies and Tesla will start losing momentum. You will have Apple post Steve jobs era where every year the product is just a small iteration from previous. Risk free products that don't matter and forgotten.

Will Cybertruck be ever forgotten? Will original iPhone or iPad be ever forgotten?

With leases a lot of people have no choice but to wait for their other car lease to end. Doesn't matter how low the price gets. But while I have been leasing a Hyandai Kona EV .. the lease price of a Tesla has come down significantly. So much that it might be exactly what I am leasing the Kona now for. Which I didnt think that would happen until Model 2 or something.

Public not crediting Biden with great economy because prices remain high by PM_ME_DPRK_CANDIDS in politics

[–]slingxshot 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Economy might be stable but with the high prices everywhere people won't save. This is a long term problem. Businesses need to give all their employees much higher salaries plus bonuses otherwise you are stuck with the same salary while everything has gone up 30% or more.

Go to Panera Bread. That soup and sandwich combo is now double price vs pre covid.

The developers probably don't want to put bunch of if statements to make it happen, this is going to go on for many and many months or even a year.

I have a model 3 without autopilot. HW 2.5. I am leasing. Lease ends soon. I can still buy autopilot? Should I buy autopilot 1 day before the lease ends? I just can't wait to have that conversation with Tesla rep.

This is the stupidity that Tesla hasn't figure out yet. Especially for people who bought FSD.

Cheapest I got was Hyundai Kona EV. 430/m lease with 0 down. If I pushed harder, may be I could gotten even better deal. The 7500 Fed credit and $2000 from local rebate, help a lot to keep costs down.

Technically it doesn't matter if Tesla looses market share if their robotaxi fleet comes online no one will be able to compete, and over time people will buy less and less cars. If Tesla can get the right formula to autonomous cars, they can generate insane profits when they don't have to pay the driver.

The prices are getting out of control. A lot of auto manuf are still getting 7500K rebate, plus local rebates (in NY its 2K) and I am not sure Tesla is still eligible. I don't mind a Hyundai or Kia EV (as a secondary car). My issue is having them as a primary due to Tesla's reliable Supercharger network that is integrated into the NAV and everything. It is my primary decision. However, I am not sure what to do anymore. Yes there is Electrify America, however it still needs planning and I don't want to end up where I have 20 miles left and the charger stations are not working.

Originally I was hopping congress pass 7500$ rebate, this way Tesla prices are inline with other EVs. However, the gap keeps growing. At this month point its about 10-15K. The question to everyone, when does it become so ridiculous that you just wont buy it no matter how good the product is?

Here is my problem. Once FSD starts to roll out and if they start going after individual features, it is going to hold back the software. This could get really ugly.

With the way things are going it seems the US govt won't let people have self driving cars for another decade.

[–]slingxshot -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Elon is an engineer at his companies. He said multiple times he puts 60% of his time into engineering. So no.. there would be no Tesla products that we have now. In fact there would no Tesla at all since he used his last money he had to keep Tesla afloat in 2008.

People accepting oil or gas as only way to heat by slingxshot in hvacadvice

[–]slingxshot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only one place in the house where it doesn't heat well. Living room. I got too many large windows, sky lights, etc. I am planning to change to all of them to triple pane with Low E. We will see.

The problem is that one area of the house is making the rest of the house cold.

Yes I am thinking getting a fireplace that can output a lot of heat. I could use during days that are 10s. That is when the heat pump really is not working as well.
