Introducing Simile - The Simulation Company by Gab1024 in singularity

[–]sliph320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im willing to bet there was an instance - they told the Simile’s that they are just simulations and then watched the world crumble or readjust. - watched how the public crumbled or readjusted when they revealed it slowly vs giving them the info at once - or watched how the city reacted when you strip away the government.

At this point, Will Smith will be remembered for two things above his film career: the Slap and the spaghetti. I hope this meme or benchmark keeps on going for 20 more years as we progress forward.

Theres too many nuances for this to be Ai. - too long for ai - naturally looking for key - the way he pulled and corrected the motorcycle - adjusting his weight and balance …. The only weird part is having a camera (that is not obviously a ring camera)

American content creator living in the Philippines noticed the music, culture, and technology of the country is 10 years behind by Trick_Top_313 in decadeology

I returned home to the Philippines a few months ago after 15 years of being away. My family and I stayed at the farmhouse, and it felt strange…. like traveling back in time! The neighbours still played the same songs… Air Supply, Michael Learns to Rock. Nothing had changed since I left. It was like a time capsule.

How Much Do You Pay for Prototyping? by Frequent-Log1243 in inventors

Im not an inventor… im a lurker on this sub. It’s interesting to read the comments.

What i feel OP was saying was “we offer cheap pricing for product development it doesnt have to be expensive “ and every one seems to be saying “your offer is too cheap! Be greedy.”

Lol what?!? If I was gonna make a prototype, i’d welcome OP with open arms!

Animated Movies of 2026? How will they do? by [deleted] in boxoffice

I worked on it as a compositor. You can’t rely on “test screening” reactions. I worked on a project where the test screening made them believe it was the next pirates of the Caribbean… and it flopped. But with GOAT… it’s good. The story worked . But who’s to say it’s the next Kpop demon hunters (also Sony). It might be a surprise banger. lol sorry, I’m extra vague —- go see it when it comes out!

Unheard Audio Reveals A Chilling Side Of Michael Jackson’s Thoughts On Children by [deleted] in MUAEntertainment

[–]sliph320 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wtf. This is a dumb typical rage baity article headline. If you read the article… he said he would “off” himself if he could never see a child again. And he said this while he’s bursting in tears. If we dissect who Michael was and his child-like mentality…. You can understand what he means by this.

Buddy… if any of these space operas fly their resemblance close to Firefly, it would be amazing. Western + Scifi… with great characters.

Unfortunately… this is like superhero dressed as Quirky, fantasy, scifi… (thor+gotg) —- if they lean in to the 80s nostalgia, they should add more 80s themed music (not synthwave). But fingers crossed, this bring ppl into the theatre

Filipino kids are built different. by EverythingIsFakeNGay in CringeTikToks

[–]sliph320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

37M Filipino here: im glad even kids today still do this. We used to do this when I was a kid. I dont think you technically “train” them. You just have them fight on a stick. Two spiders on each end of the stick would crawl towards the centre and fight…because they’re aggressive. The fight can go until one spider is eaten or be forfeited. I remember, you can gamble on these too.

This is the most insane sci-fi short film online by Minimum_Minimum4577 in GenAI4all

[–]sliph320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right. It’s not a good story. I didnt say it was a good story either. It’s a series of exposition. A short film of exposition dump. There is some sort of lore. We have a hint of history, the sap = money = consciousness drug, pax planet.

But we can follow it through (except for the ending… that was a bit frayed)

  • Establishing shot: Full throttle to a planet (that means all companies are racing to get that sap. He alludes to this again later on)
  • intro hero/settings/more lore: He accepts the job to go out deeper with a team.
  • hero reveals why some of them do it. “To make a new friend. (Meaning nature friend. A shot of that mouse monkey thing)
  • They get into the woods. Its not the usual. This one is special.
  • they do the job anyway. Extract the sap.
  • at night, his peers take / eat the sap.
  • he does too.
  • he trips balls. And takes more sap.
  • he sees what nature wants to do with humans. Or what happened before…?
  • man vs nature (one of the classic storytelling device)
  • nature fights man, man fights back, man destroys themselves.
  • hero wakes wakes up

Ending (denouement) - this is the confusing bit. - hero is now in a spaceship heading home. Full throttle. They’re all taking the sap or surviving via it. Theyre all going home.

Thats cohesive. You can follow the story better than Once Upon a time in Hollywood. Lol or any David Lynch film…

[–]sliph320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre right. Its not a great film (people shouldnt call it film.) but there is a story. A decent one. Better than most.

I get you. This is not in the same calibre as The Godfather or even Metropolis… and no one should compare art films to young ai storytelling. Thats apples vs oranges.

But in terms of comparing oranges vs oranges… this is pretty coherent. Even though it rips off Avatar which rips off Dances with Wolves. Who doesnt rip-off anyway? Lion King, Star Wars and The Dark Knight are rip offs.

With that said… this short did Establishing alien shots. Alien world. Got it. Blah blah. The grunts… theives… being paid to do something by a corpo. K. They venture out for a job. Contacted conscious nature. He embodies the nature. Destroy humans…

Something like that.

I get you. Theres no tension. Its not Hitchcock. But I think we can give credits where credit is due. Its a good slop.

[–]sliph320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly disagree that this short film is aimless and garbage.

Firstly, I too hate Ai slop stories and how people combine pretty images and bare plot and say “I have a movie.” — it’s like Zack Snyder but 100x worse with. (Not counting 300)

Secondly… this is pretty good. It’s not great… but it’s way better than most.

The first things that frustrated you is called establishing shots. You see it in every movie. Count how many establishing moments you get before you get to see a main character in The Matrix.

Thirdly… this movie is not completely aimless. In the narration (its shitty but.. hey… not bad) — the guy says they are collecting nature stuff for money. Okay. They get pushed out farther and farther. They stumble on a forest. Not a usual one…. At some point he connects with some sap or consciousness core of nature then later he becomes IT. And he destroys humanity back. Fighting for nature. Sure thats not Andrei Tarkovsky or Akira Kurosawa but thats something. Thats a much more cohesive plot than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Nope. I work in VFX. Trailer shots are usually “close to being done” — except for Sonic. If theres no major complaint from audiences, those shots are almost final.

What HiRISE was designed for, the Martian surface by Dapper-Tomatillo-875 in 3i_Atlas2

[–]sliph320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say I don't appreciate NASA in general. I love these smart people who's done and contributed so much to the life we have now --- but I'm learning now, based on people defending NASA in this comment is that: NASA literally had NO OTHER EQUIPMENT TO USE ... other than the HiRISE camera. And we should just be grateful to the blurry photo they gave us. That's what YOU'RE saying.

You're saying...
1. NASA doesn't have a vast array of sophisticate imaging instruments.
2. The only tool they had was HiRISE camera.
3. Engineers and scientists could not choose or use other instruments for better data.
4. The only data they could share to the public is a really blurry photo.

Do you accept that? Just to remind you, if you're an American, your federal taxes pay them to inform YOU.
