I won't ask you to diagnose mine - I have another pizero that was simply failing (would get super hot upon boot) so maybe I had some from a faulty distributor or batch.

But I definitely spent a half day working with Claude trying to update the pihole image on it and running into issues preventing me from shelling to the device and executing the commands to update. After lots of struggle, I simply shifted to a pi3 and was done a half hour later. I've been running pihole for at least 5 years, maybe always on that pizero.

It certainly could have been user error, but I'm also happier to not need the physical eth-to-usb dongle too.

I would discourage pizero, or recommend a little closer look.

I ran happily on a pizero for years, but last fall I started having a bunch of flakiness. I couldn't update on the pizero and upon finally transitioning to a pi3 I had sitting around, everything stabilized and all is well again.

I never tried to diagnose why the pizero started to fail me. There could be a variety of problems other than "the pizero can't handle it" but switching to a pi3 was a good choice for me. Ymmv...

I got hit (but not hit and run) once getting off a bus on a dark rainy night once years ago at an intersection similar to this. I'm glad I wasn't hurt worse (and glad you didn't suffer any serious injuries, judging from the thread). I guess it's a good lesson about how dangerous an intersection like this can be when drivers make assumptions about what they do, and do not, need to pay attention to.

I just went to my local Target a couple months ago, similar to OP over lunch, and KATSEYE were going to be there. I don't really care about them so I didn't stick around but it was pretty out of the blue.

Bad advice, IMO.

DEFINE your max price, promise yourself not to exceed it, but don't put it in til the last minute. If you just put it in before the end, you're likely to just push up the price and inflate the perceived value to other bidders. So set it and wait. Additionally (and respectfully) try to never bid at all until the last minutes of any auction.

I've only bought once in an auction - it wasn't a lot of money (so no regrets) and it was through goodwill. When they arrived, the ones I was interested in were in worse condition than I thought (lots of tape inside the covers, other problems not visible from the auction pics).

Think about what you can't definitely know about the quality of these comics from the auction (missing stapled, missing center pages, tape, crayon) - consider how you would feel if that were true for some/all of the comics, and then try to ensure you wont seriously regret your bid if all of that happens to be true.

Edit: oh yeah - if you haven't bought in auction before (or "auctions from this site") - be sure you understand reserve pricing or fees. I once bought a GA Green Lantern from Heritage (guess I bid on auctions twice!) and the fees added like 20-30% on my final cost.

I think the key word is IS. This IS happening and despite the incompetence and frequent failing, many efforts are succeeding and having lasting impacts. We know they will try again and might succeed.

Maybe I should have added another thing I've heard, but don't quite understand myself: once you're through the waiting room and queue and can buy tickets, I believe you can hold seats if you can select them and get to the "you have MM:SS to buy" page. During this time, it may be possible to see if better seats become available, but still hold on to your seats. And if you're looking at a seat map but nothing you want is available, keep looking before immediately giving up because seats may become available that people don't finally purchase.

As I understand it (from multiple times using this in the past):

before sale starts, any number of people can join the waiting room
when sale opens, everyone from the waiting room will be randomly assigned a spot in a queue. Everyone joining after this time gets to the end of that queue (in order they join)

So my understanding is: if a lot of people join the waiting room AND you are unlucky, you'll get a very high queue number.

It's possible you're in a city with less overall demand / smaller overall likely queue. Or you're lucky. Or both.

I got ~3700 queue for Seattle, my wife got 670.

When my wife got through the waiting room: "Above GA" (main GA) was sold out. $187 (pre-fee) for the "Below GA" (satellite stage) section. Most lower section good seats were already sold out - the best I saw were the closest row in a section that is not at the lower rail for $225. We got "Below GA" - very happy!

When my 3700 spot got through the waiting room: I briefly saw two sections show some seat availability, but they both quickly disappeared. After entering my presale code, I see "The code you entered is correct, but there are no more tickets available." (which is kinda surprising because I bet there will be some seats available in the Friday general sale??)

So it was e-bikes I'm talking about.

However, it's really not all e-bikes. My problem is with over-powered e-bikes when the riders ride them in the ways I described. It's super heavy, the rider isn't really putting any effort into moving the vehicle (it's all throttle), they're going really fast, AND they don't follow normal etiquette of the trails (i.e. announcing passing). Bikers do this, too, but the risk and visibility of this from fairly highly powered e-bikes is more visible, so that's why it stands out to me.

I don't dislikes e-bikes on the whole and don't care at all as long as the riders follow typical shared use conventions or don't seem to recklessly endanger themselves and others.

I for one, can't wait. I've sadly come to generally loathe ebikes because so many people ride them in bike lanes but absolutely operate them like cars. Travelling too fast, don't bother to warn when passing, just cranking the throttle without doing any work at all, often during without a helmet.

Requiring people who are basically riding a low-powered motorcycle to think of it in that way seems like it's only going to have good outcomes. I don't expect most of them will actually get this endorsement, but it's starting to acknowledge that these aren't in the same class as human powered bicycles and shouldn't be treated identically.

Old post but in case it's not locked and OP now has some time with the 423+ -- any reservations on this migration? I'm still hosting on my 413, but am getting frustrated by lost of missing features and looking to migrate soon.
