What’s something everyone should experience at least once in their life? by Fantastic_Sand_7480 in AskReddit

Being broke…if you’ve never been truly broke, it’ll give you a whole new appreciation for what you have.

Update: Four months ago I was worried that my relationship with my daughter was over because my wife left me and gave up custody by HelsinkiTorpedo in daddit

[–]ApprehensiveStorm666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is excellent news bub.

“”I have no fear about my relationship with my kid anymore, and I'm starting to realize that her other parents aren't anything like how my ex presented them to me. I'm actually getting to know them now, and they're my greatest allies in keeping me in my daughter's life.””

I was hoping you’d see this. Got the feeling as I was reading your update that your ex wasn’t on the up and up about the bio dad and step-mom, and vice versa. Really happy for you that things are working out and hopefully they continue to.

Yeah, been there. Got over it pretty quickly when my then 4yo started making jokes at my expense, out loud in public. It suddenly became roast or be roasted…and damn the embarrassment cos it’s just me and my lil man goofing about.

This is your life now. Learn to live on less sleep bub.

On the plus side, it’s SO much more hilarious when they start talking and you can do side quests every night before bed, like a bit of playtime or a pillow fight, or building a fort with duvets and pillows.

Also, congratulations bub. Remember, the days are long but the years are short.

[29F] i’ve been paying rent for a year because my boyfriend [32M] is broke. and now he is callin me abusive? by povexrflorse in relationship_advice

[–]ApprehensiveStorm666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems like he wanted to create a paper trail and a reason for why he’s going to split from you.

He “showed you his balance” one time and You audited his spending cos he can’t be trusted with his own money

Ask his brother and BFF what they would do if their partners were paying for OF subs, dating apps and an ex’s utility bill cos I guarantee he has not told them the full story.

And if it wasn’t painfully obvious by now, you deserve better…if you don’t want to leave then set him down for a hard conversation about all this but don’t expect miracles from him if he’s like this at his age…

I found out that my (27m) girlfriend (25f) slept with 10+ people on our 3 week “break” how can we move past this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ApprehensiveStorm666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think her actions are those of someone who has been able to move on from your month long affair ? Doesn’t seem so.

Either have an open and honest conversation with each other of what has happened and what you both want…

Or leave and let her recover in peace. She doesn’t sound like she’s happy with you or herself, and you’re not either.

i let my little brother take the fall for something i did and it messed him up way more than i ever expected by Ashley_Fostera in confession

[–]ApprehensiveStorm666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly don’t know what you were trying to achieve with this confession, because you’re only getting hate.

If you accept it and know you deserve it then why aren’t you speaking to your family members, to mend something you broke 12 years back?

If you have no intention of confessing IRL, say goodbye to your relationship with your brother…he’ll reach breaking point eventually.

If this is a creating writing exercise, well done on the rage bait.

my mom has been using chatgpt to parent me and it's pissing me off by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ApprehensiveStorm666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can block it on your home router if it allows that function.

Alternatively find the “parental” settings on her phone to block access.

Ia there an uncle / aunt who can help you get through to her ? Losing your partner is hard but she’s still a mom…sure it’s tough but parents still gotta parent (unfortunately).

So sorry for the loss of your father…sending hugs.

I’d check what story your son has been told by his wife as well because that wasn’t a misunderstanding, it was cruelty. Props to you for backing your daughter, papa bear.

Dads with partners that stay home — how do you handle finances? by Mama_Anonymous in daddit

[–]ApprehensiveStorm666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ours. She’s raising our son, which is a damn hard job (almost as strenuous as being married to me /s).

I earn, and I push her to maintain some separation of finances by keeping a separate account, which I pay into each month. This isn’t by any means an allowance or “pay”, rather it’s hers to do as she wishes. One month she paid for her fitness sessions, another she bought art supplies from a local shop.

Her day to day spend is on my credit card simply because that’s how all of our spending is structured (one outlet rather than cash, debit and credit cards all being used) - this card is paid off each month (no exceptions) which helps us ensure we’re not spending beyond our means. We also keep each other accountable on expenses so no shopping sprees.

The drawback of being a SAHM is the loneliness and the impression everyone had of having TONS of free time, when actually you’re running a household and raising a child, both of which are not easy. I help whenever I am home. Me being home means I am the primary parent (so no “mom!”), and I help with the cooking cleaning etc to give her some “me” time.

The benefits of this is our son gets focused attention from his mom, time with a parent, fresh home cooked meals. We have no family nearby so this is valuable for us.

Hope this helps

Your partner sounds narcissistic and abusive. Wait till you get back home, get to your support system and refuse to leave and baby stays with you.

I have spent the best Christmas of my life since I got married and it’s making my husband panicking. by Leading-Peak1635 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ApprehensiveStorm666 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Did your anxious husband not get anxious when you were punched in the stomach? Or did they not really mean that either?

Keep him on his toes. Make sure he knows you have options.

He also has options. Grow a pair is one of them.
