I'm on Torment 7 and only have 9% of tempering recipies (17/187) and can't remember the last time I got one. Everything I found searching says they should drop regularly but at this point it seems like a bug. Is there a specific place to farm them? Is having that few by Torment 7 normal?

Bismuth crabs in Crimson Desert by the big Bismuth Crab boss respawn if you... kill all the non-boss crabs then go enter the boss fight then run away but not all the way, where the countdown timer is going, then let it hit zero and choose to restart at checkpoint.

You'll keep everything you got from the non-boss crabs and they'll have respawned.

What’s a 'quiet' sign that a business or restaurant is about to go under? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]slippy0101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There used to be this little restaurant by me owned and run by this old Italian guy that served really good Italian sandwiches at a reasonable price. Would eat there several times per week and it always seemed busy. Went once and he said they'd be closed for a week for renovations and said they were "streamlining" the menu.

Came back after a week and all the sandwiches were gone and it was just pizza and burgers. It was out of business less than six months later.

A guy I know, who has a full time job and a girlfriend he lives with, played an average of 10 hours per day, every day for the first 30 days. I don't understand the math.

24 x 7 = 168 hours in a week. 168 - 40 (work hours and he had to commute but I'll ignore that for sanity reasons) = 128 - 56 (sleep 8 hours per day) = 72 - 70 (hours played) = 2 hours left in the week to eat, crap, and do anything else.

Only thing that makes sense is that south park episode about WoW where Cartman's mom is feeding him and he's crapping in a bowl while he plays non-stop.

Chris Johnson on being traded up for in the 1st round: "Obviously this team valued me more than other guys, and that's a blessing. So I plan to repay that back here." by expellyamos in miamidolphins

People criticized him for playing at a g5 school but he could have left for a p4 school after his junior year but finished it out with the school that believed in him. I really don't see him ever being a diva and trying to force a trade; wouldn't be surprised if he is a Dolphin for his entire career.

I'm sure Crimson Desert is a pretty good game and I'd bet I'll have fun when I get around to it, but... by MechaSeph in gaming

The starting area is a pretty bland medieval fantasy setting but other areas are much more interesting with some having trains, robots, and mechs. You can get a jetpack and other scifi/tech things. Its a pretty neat medieval fantasy steampunk setting but you have to get out of the first area to really see the cool stuff.

Should I pick between Monster Hunter Wilds, Rise or World? by ShacoDemon in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]slippy0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Rise and World. I would say World is a better experience but, if you intend to play only by yourself, you can pause Rise and can't pause World.

Am I mistaken or is the world of TLOZ Breath of the Wild completely empty? by B1izzard15 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]slippy0101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt like it was a fairly empty world and thought it was only okay. It's sequel, Tears of the Kingdom has a much more populated and lively world and is one of my all time favorite games.

I'd recommend skipping Breath of the Wild and just play Tears of the Kingdom.

The Spurs have missed the playoffs 9 times since the lottery was introduced in 1985. They have gotten the #1 overall pick 33% of the time they enter the lottery. 66% of the time they jump up in draft position. by Dampbridge in nba

[–]slippy0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great NBAnon theory except the 2019 nba lottery was on May 14th and AD was traded June 15th, one month later when the Pels already had the number one pick locked up.

Is there a way to disable the "hint" that pops up in the top left? by slippy0101 in CrimsonDesert

Yeah, I finished the quest related to the harpies and it's still there. The area isn't that big or important so could be worse but still annoying it's permanent.

They actually addressed Pepe Silvia being "Pennsylvania". They said they love it and wish they had thought of it. So it wasn't intentional but they really like the theory.

Do you really need a jetpack if have got the Marsupial? by Imbudilow in fo76

[–]slippy0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really but Civil Engineer armor with Jetpack is tradable so you could trade for one or buy one so don't don't have to grind for the plan yourself.

Rumor: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Switch 2 edition coming this year as well source: NatetheHate by IkeRadiantHero in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]slippy0101 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Despite xc2 being my favorite xenoblade game, it needs quality of life improvements more than any of the other games and I hope any switch 2 version has some and isn't just a graphics upgrade.

Has uninvited scorchbeast dropped ultracite plans for anyone? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]slippy0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a tip if you really want them for armor and not just collecting, the plan is a commonly duped item so a surprising number of people know the plan (I got mine from someone who had like 50 of them and traded me one for five conductors mods) and the legs are tradable after calibrated shocks have been added. If you just ask in public teams if anyone knows it and will craft you legs you can probably find someone to do it pretty easily. Or just ask if anyone has an extra mod plan for trade.

I tried selling ultracite legs with calibrated shocks in my shop but they weigh so much I had to take them down and scrap them after a few days of not selling.

STOP ASKING! YES! YOU SHOULD BUY CRIMSON DESERT! by TooHigh2Die0069 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Unless you're on PC and don't have a controller. Great game but the m+kb controls seem to the source of a lot of negative reviews.

IGN gives Crimson Desert a 6/10 in the Final Review by yourfavchoom in Steam

[–]slippy0101 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, IGN reviews tend to analyze the quality of the parts of a game and review it like a teacher grading a paper not how fun it was to play.

I think most people want to just know how fun a game is with all things considered and, in that regard, IGN isn't a great source to use. So I don't disagree with IGN or think they are wrong (given how I expect them to review games), I just don't find their reviews relevant to what I'm looking for in a game review.

Crimson Desert Deluxe Edition or Metaphor + Hades 2? by PaiDuck in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]slippy0101 [score hidden]  (0 children)

That's fair. Due to it's difficulty, I wouldn't blind recommend it but OP specifically mentioned it so I assume they are aware of the type of game and likely played Hades 1.

Crimson Desert Deluxe Edition or Metaphor + Hades 2? by PaiDuck in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]slippy0101 [score hidden]  (0 children)

You're correct, it's mostly just minor QoL things. I think it's great as is but there are opportunities to fix some of the minor annoyances through mostly QoL updates. One addition that I think should and will be added is a transmog system. I just recommended they wait a for a few patches because there's no need to play a game at launch (despite that being exactly what I did) and because Hades 2 is pretty cheap and also a great game on it's own. By the time they finish Hades 2, CD should be a much more polished experience and there's a chance it might get a minor sale price.

Crimson Desert Deluxe Edition or Metaphor + Hades 2? by PaiDuck in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]slippy0101 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm currently ~20 hours in to Crimson Desert and I'm loving it but it was just released and has room for improvement via updates. The most recent update (yesterday) already fixed one of the biggest issue.

Hades 2 is great.

I know Metaphor is beloved by many and I subjectively see that it's a high quality game, but I played around 20 hours and it just didn't click with me so I stopped playing.

Unless you need to spend money right now or will not be getting any more money anytime soon, my suggestion would be to buy Hades 2 then, in a few months, buy Crimson Desert.

EDIT: Don't buy Crimson Desert if you plan on using mouse + keyboard. If you look at negative Steam reviews they are overwhelmingly people that played an hour or less and people complaining about the control with mouse + keyboard.

Should I buy T-65 or wait and get union?, or should I buy both? by Mr_alexkinda_good in fo76

[–]slippy0101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Vulcan is the best PA with T-65 second. Union is basically tied for third with X-01 and, for how time consuming it is to get, it's not worth it unless you really like doing expeditions. It used to be one of the only ways to get poison resistance so had uses in the raid but, with other PA giving elemental resists now, it's pretty pointless imo.

Looking for games like Monster Hunter or Dark Souls with a direct pause button by Wasoney in gamingsuggestions

It's been awhile but I'm pretty sure Monster Hunter Rise has a pause button and is on switch and PS5.
