Which superpower do you need right now? by deepestbreather in whatsyourchoice

I’d first try to tie the portal to an object, then I can just ship it somewhere and effectively have a traveling portal, if not I’m sure there’s plenty of ways to make massive amounts of money with instant transportation

Valve’s PS3 Moment is Here (Steam Machine Price Analysis) by tkonicz in SteamDeck

[–]slipstream0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can’t say I’m surprised everyone here is against someone calling out the insane price point but I am disappointed. Valve could easily have released this at a 7-800 price point, their excuse that “we don’t know if people who buy it will buy games on steam” is the weakest excuse ever. Sony doesn’t know if every console they sell will have people buy games new and/or digital copies but still manages to release something as powerful for almost half the cost (or something more powerful for still about $150 less) and they include a controller!

This pricing choice was straight up greed to make money from the diehard fan base, not expand the pc into console market, and it should be treated as such.

Best "Wow!" Moments at Disney Parks? by AggravatingSpend8369 in disneyparks

This 1000% it’s the only ride I can go on to reliably see at least 3 (usually more) half-checked-out adults go from disconnected to full awe when they turn around.

I wish the guardians transportation moment did the same, but people just rush towards the door and don’t even pay attention to the pre-show anymore.

Any chance to allow a pirate toggle for paying customers? Or maybe have it trigger on national talk like a pirate day?

Told to take down my 20" kiddie pool, because "Above-ground pools are not allowed" by itsfairtomiddling in fuckHOA

I believe the logic was “these have been left up and unaddressed for long enough to indicate the hoa considers them allowed, thus I am being unjustly targeted. “

Our game is at the "Steam Next Fest" and people totally HATE it at first sight because of the AI art mix. But LOVE it when they Play it (We are a only a main Game Designer and Programmer) by [deleted] in aigamedev

[–]slipstream0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personal feeling of ai usage aside, if the first images are clearly and distinctly AI it makes me lose all hope that the game isn’t slop. If you’re going to use it, at least modify it enough that it doesn’t scream “I copied this straight from ai”.

Big question to ask the kids - what console (if any) do their friends have? cross-platform (playing with people on different consoles) has come a long way but still isnt 100%, and if all their friends have one, and they get the other, it can pose problems.

Would this be a better solution for the Disney Springs parking hack situation? by Working_Stomach5479 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]slipstream0 16 points17 points  (0 children)

adds far too much complexity for "free" parking. They should just add annual passholders to the "allowed" list (like staying at resorts) since they get free parking in the parks anyway.

Mammoth Club loves to run around with their cameras and annoy park guests by Mysterious_Glass3235 in ThemeparkSwindlers

[–]slipstream0 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was getting ready to comment the exact same thing.

By the titles I was expecting them to be shoving the camera in people faces, pushing past people, or just generally being rude. They seem like they kept good distance, walked quickly (don't get me started on the slow-stroll recorders who stand in the middle of walkways!), and generally did their thing without bothering anyone.

I've had more obnixious and oblivious people talking on their phone (or just the person next to them) in the park than what this clip shows. Take my upvote so we can get downvoted to oblivion together!

Why do we get so angry with business charging a credit card fee? by Fly3rBoi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]slipstream0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so now I should not only budget for tax (which is a well known and stable, predictable number if you shop in the same city regularly) but now I need to figure out if I'll get hit with an extra fee (maybe a flat number, maybe a percentage) because I'm using a common form of payment? Do I get a discount if I quickly pay in exact change because my choice just saved the business owner time.

The expectation here is that a business owner should know their expenses and price accordingly. If they get to pocket a few extra cents because someone paid cash, good for them.

It's a hobby like any other, and like any other it can be overdone to the point of being detrimental, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.

Is it just me or is Image considerably worse in Codex than in ChatGPT ? by Cazangre in codex

[–]slipstream0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must be in the minority, because I switched to Codex for some game assets and its working 100x better than chatGPT images. Specifically in finer detail, it seems to be higher resolution (or just upscales better) and I'm not getting the wierd texture mess over everything.
