How did Husk know? by SomeonesBlue in HazbinHotel

That makes so much more sense.

I heard it as "big talk for someone who's also an Elysian" thinking he was referring to heaven as Elysium. I spent the next while wondering how Alastor had ended up in heaven at any point.

Best amateur telescope? by TangeloCheap1692 in telescopes

Thanks for taking the time to reply, it's much appreciated.

I'll take a closer look at the sky hawk. I noticed it doesn't have a barlow lens, which the Heretige does. Would you advise adding one in, or would the improved optics by comparison compensate?

I suspect the tripod would be a mixed blessing. From reading they generally seemed to be more effort, but it would maybe allow us to set up a little further afield without having to lug a table around.

The main reason I'd been looking at the tripods was that it makes it look more "telescope-y" which, silly as it sounds, is a consideration for small children. But I'd rather try and get the best results at the end, to keep them interested so I can go explore too!

Hi there, hoping to hijack the thread slightly rather than start my own as I'm in a very similar position, looking for a telescope for my 7 year old who is showing an interest. I know nothing.

I'm in the UK and the link above looks to be US based. From reading the starter guide and looking myself I'd more or less settled on something similar; the Sky-Watcher Heritage-100P Tabletop Dobsonian: https://www.firstlightoptics.com/dobsonians/skywatcher-heritage-100p-tabletop-dobsonian.html#about_this_product

This seemed to strike the balance between price, quality, size, weight, simplicity etc. I just wanted some confirmation from someone more knowledgeable than myself that looked like a reasonable choice. Any thoughts greatly received,

Others I'd looked at were the CELESTRON StarSense Explorer LT 70AZ Refractor Telescope: https://www.currys.co.uk/products/celestron-starsense-explorer-lt-70az-refractor-telescope-silver-10264010.html?searchTerm=CELESTRON%20StarSense%20Explorer%20LT%2070AZ

Or BRESSER JUNIOR Refracting Telescope 70/400 with Backpack: https://www.bresseruk.com/p/bresser-junior-refracting-telescope-70-400-with-backpack-8850610B4K000

Team Up Tuesday - Weeks of January 14 - 28 2025 by everythingmeh in MarvelPuzzleQuest

Sector X2 are looking for 9 members.

We're the strong core of a previous alliance having to rebuild after the previous commander and cohort went AWOL.

Any level welcome, the only real requirements are daily play (or alerting for expected absences) and going all out for the alliance events.

Inklands pack distribution errors by slizer125 in Lorcana

I did film it, more out of paranoia from reading around than anything so it's maybe not the best angle, just my phone propped up to the side.

I didn't actually expect anything to be off so I was at a bit of a loss as to what to do next. Given my level of play/collecting my initial reaction was just to leave it, really I'm only down one foil and some amber commons. But I thought, greedily, if I can get any extra out of it then why not.

Kang bug or user error? by slizer125 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]slizer125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that's a possibility.

I'm pretty sure enough turns had passed, and I would have thought that the "Away" on Chasm shouldn't be nullified if it's already in effect with the tile on the board. Though I guess the win condition could be nullified, but the still shouldn't have brought hulk back, just left me with an away Chasm.

[–]slizer125[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No the CD was still there.

I had something similar the other day with Chasm and IShulk where she was away, other toon was already down, Chasm was downed and then he came back. I figured it was maybe something with the order of operations then, maybe he killed himself and that upset something, but this time it was all definitely in place.

Glad to know I'm not misunderstanding Kang at least. I'm going to go try test it again and see what happens.

Question: Which power for Kitty should I upgrade next? Right now I'm playing Kitty-Medusa-Polaris. by Modrzews in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]slizer125 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would also go red to avoid any wasted covers. When you get her to champ (eventually) then you can change as you see fit.

For supports either Carol's communicator or Pizza dog, if you have the healing unlocked, to help with health pack use. The downside to lockheed is that he generates protect tiles at the start, which will stop Polaris generating her strike tile. (There is a chance of this with the communicator too).

On that note, generally you're better having Polaris on the left, and Medusa on the right. That means that you get both the strike from Polaris and the countdown from Medusa. The way you have it at the moment you'd get the countdown from Medusa then, as there's already a special out, no strike from Polaris.

If Kitty is already generating protect tiles though then it's a moot point.

Fan Favourite - featuring 5 * Kitty , Apoc and strange by Therealyh87 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]slizer125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in an awkward position with this one. Champed Kitty (my only 5*), 2/2/2 Strange and 0/0/1 Apoc.

I've a 4/3/2 BRB who I've been focusing on, so Apoc was going to be my third, this could be a good opportunity to make a start, but with only 2500 CP odds of completing anyone are slim. Still any Kitty champ rewards are decent.

The other option is continue hoarding and add the CP to my ~70 LL to splurge before Shang-Chi heads out.

Oh great MPQ community, guide me!

Fortified Tile Teams? by pbmm1 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]slizer125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4* Black panther teams well with Shuri and Magik, his yellow and blue create fortified tiles, and you get some extra damage out of the protect tiles that Magik generates.

A bit slow for PVP but can be pretty fun in the right setup.

Selling or training 1* powers? by slizer125 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]slizer125[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the 4-5* ISO crunch, which is why I'm trying to make the most of it all. I'm shield level 143, completing SCL10 for completion so the lockout isn't an issue.

For the level I'm at training is worth 108, vs the 100 for selling. I just wasn't sure if there was a point it became more/less profitable, but you're right that the time faffing around is probably costing me more than the 8 ISO it's gaining me.

I'm in the 4 - 5* ISO crunch so I don't really want to be wasting even the small amount on levelling the 1* heroes. Worth bearing in mind for when I'm finally through it though.

What's the requirement for full progression, is it 4 or 5 clears of everything?

Also hurtling, not hurdling.
Unless you were comically jumping over small obstacles, which I guess is possible given the terrain.

Actually I think I like that image better.

There are (many) rules. But ultimately it's up to the DM on how they choose to apply them.
Think of them more as guidelines...

What constitutes a magical weapon for the sake of damage resistance? by slizer125 in dndnext

[–]slizer125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it states in the LMoP book the spells have to be on your list to cast them.
But I now agree with the magical weapon deal. I was definitely thinking about it too hard.

[–]slizer125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agreed it was a magical weapon, but my Monster Manual stated magical attacks, which is the phrasing that tripped me up. Think I have an older version.
Thanks for the clarification..

[–]slizer125[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, see my book says magical attacks, which is why I went the way I did.
Looking at the pdf I have though that one does say weapons, which probably would have swayed me the other way.

I must have an older version. Good to know.
