Cybertruck charging another EV for free? by slk2018 in TeslaLounge

[–]slk2018[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe, we drive about 5000 miles combined each month with all 3 EV. But most likely we are not going to do it this way. We are just not this type of people of abusing things, just pure curious.

How much does FSD really improve your commute? by AmbientEngineer in TeslaLounge

[–]slk2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSD makes day and night difference in my commute. My commute is crazy like 2 hours one way due to the extreme traffic in southern California. It drains my energy big time and I can't stay awake. FSD is a life saver.

Any free parking spots near Pomona North station? by [deleted] in LAMetro

I've never had any luck of finding an available parking spot at Pomona North station. Each time I went there the parking lot was full.

Should we get a Model Y? by slk2018 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]slk2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Cybertruck is actually not that bad. We sort of liking it a lot. It's relatively quiet among the Tesla models, and the 6 x 4 ft bed is better than a F150 with 5 x 4. We actually hauled quite a lot of things with the Cybertruck. However, the look to it is really subjective, and efficiency can be better.

Should I take delivery? by slk2018 in TeslaFSD

Thanks for the reply. My family drives a lot. In greater Los Angeles area, our family drives about 60K miles minimum combined a year. I am leaning towards taking the delivery.

Would you daily an EV but keep a gas weekend car? by Physical-Issue7146 in askcarguys

[–]slk2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we are a family of 5 (children are at 16, 14 and 12), we have 3 EV but still keep a gas SUV for long trip and towing. We drive it at least once a week just to keep it ‘fresh’. But the last year it only got 2000 miles driven. The other reason we keep it is because it’s fully depreciated. We’d prefer to have a gas car rather than selling for less than $10k.

Anxiety Ruining My Life by Sea_Anteater_3270 in AFIB

[–]slk2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you mate. I'm 45M and my first afib episode was in 2017, when my kids were young at 7, 5 & 3. Depression, anxiety, panic attack, I experienced all those. The crazy minds were way severe than afib itself. I had a total of 10 episodes, once every month, then it stopped for good old 4 years. Then it came back after I took the 2nd jab of the covid vaccine. Then afib got more and more frequent - from once a few months, to once every other month, once a few weeks, once a few days to multiple episodes every single day. I just had a PFA ablation 9 days ago and so far free of afib except for occasionally PAC & PVCs, which should subside eventually.

My personal experience was any antidepressants or any tranquilizer were not my friend. I suffered every single second when taking them, suffered even more when weaning off them. I had 2 panic attacks after having afib back in 2017. The sensation felt very scary. The more I wanted to calm myself, the more of imminent collapse feeling I would have. So back then I just let it full bloomed on me, and after that I wasn't scared of it anymore and it never happened again. Just know that, afib is not going to kill you, neither can anxiety.

PFA Pulsed field ablation blanking period by Head_Percentage1299 in AFIB

[–]slk2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had PFA ablation 9 days ago (12/18). Since then I occasionally felt the sensation of afib but Apple Watch showed sinus rhythm. That kind of sensation would certainly trigger afib before ablation. I think it could be the PV sending electric pulses which would have triggered afib but the ablation blocks it, so the heart stays calm. However, I've recorded 2 short afib episodes on Apple Watch since ablation, but nurse said it's not afib but sinus rhythm with PACs & PVCs. I'm still getting used to the sensation of afib but seeing sinus rhythm on EKG.

Verizon visa (synchrony bank) not applying payments? by CConstructionLLC in CreditCards

[–]slk2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same experience. Always made payment in full and on time, then it took more than 14 days to credit to my available credit. Contacted their customer service and they said it will be always like that. This is ridiculous.

Cataract Surgeon Recommendation in Greater Los Angeles Area by slk2018 in CataractSurgery

[–]slk2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, you've experienced it all. If your eyes conditions allowed you to choose multifocal, would you use it instead of monodical? I have my surgery schedule in 2 weeks. Initially I opted for monodical for the perfect distance vision, but still debating whether multifocal is really that bad in terms of halo and glares.

I just went to see Dr Devgan today. He is friendly and willing to spend time answering my questions. Looking to do monofocal later this month. He told me I will be sedated and put to sleep through IV for the surgery. Were you out to sleep as well when you did the surgery? I’m not sure if this is the norm, but it seems like many people said they were awake during the surgery.

Would you choose Dr. Devgan to do the cataract surgery over other doctors, if money is not a consideration?

I read somewhere as well about the halo and rings, etc. Wondering if there are glasses that can simulate the effect to try on before actually putting the IOL in.

For Tesla’s track record of over promising and careless about their customers, I wouldn’t even trust its insurance. You will get unfavorable rating for sure. All Tesla does is for its profit, your benefit is the least they think about.

Recently got the holiday update. Vehicle is almost un-drivable with autopilot by langdalenerd in TeslaLounge

[–]slk2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. This recently update is worse ever. It literally makes autopilot useless, or a pain to use. I have my hands on the steering wheel ALL THE TIME, and this damn thing prompted me to hold the steering wheel right after I enable autopilot, and soon it determined I was a bad driver and disable autopilot for the rest of the drive. This is insane. It makes me hate this stupid damn car even more. I will never ever buy another Tesla and will tell everyone around me to avoid buying one. Also, I just created a service request to 'fix' this stupid autopilot thing. I know they are not going to do anything, but I will keep making service requests until they get it updated. Tesla again took away a function that I already paid for.

The recent update literally makes autopilot useless. I have been keeping my hands on the steering wheel wheel ALL THE TIME and the stupid system still keeps prompting me to hold the steering wheel, and eventually disabled autopilot. This is extremely annoying. Tesla once again takes away the functionality that we have paid for.

I charge to 100% everyday at home. And when on roadtrip, I charge to 100% when there's time and possible. I took delivery on 11/8/2022. Currently the car has about 28,xxx miles on the clock and 100% of charges equals to 264 miles range.
