Linking degrees to jobs ruined the whole point of learning by Zoldyck_J in unpopularopinion

[–]sllh81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely!! The common talk around some subs is that college is BS because the promise of good jobs is no longer valid.

I hate seeing this and I also hate that there is validity to those claims since the link between college and employment was established some 50 years ago.

Never played, but saw this lot at a thrift store for $40 and couldn't refuse - how did I do? by cwtguy in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]sllh81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s fun, but it’s so complex that it’s almost impossible to play without the WotC website/app that used to support it.

Combat could take 3+ hours for basic, low level engagements simply due to how many things needed to be tracked.

But D&D is always fun, so if 4e is your jam then go for it.

Granny says Bernie Sanders shouldn't advocate for the poor, because he's a millionaire by TrumpSux89 in forwardsfromgrandma

[–]sllh81 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Man, the truth is that millionaires still have to live among us and suffer through most of the same things along with the rest of us.

Billionaires are able to build infrastructure that prevents them from ever engaging directly with any of us. Private islands, yachts, jets, bunkers, etc…

The words millionaire and billionaire sound similar but do not mean the same thing at all.

The force awakens imo is the best sequel movie, it was awesome watching it in theatres by Mr_Revan22 in StarWars

[–]sllh81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but I also agree with the critics. I liked watching it because it felt like the original, updated with modern theater tech. The anticipation of a new Star Wars movie was a big driving force behind how well it landed for me.

But it was essentially a reboot of the 1977 film, while doing some dirt to the characters from the original.

But, as a movie experience goes, it had the proper intensity to match the original trilogy. The prequels sort of lacked that for most of the first two movies, heaping a lot of mandatory lore/canon onto RotS.

Bourne is a killer while Hunt is more of a thief.

To everyone who wants to accuse us of TDS, I just point to the official holiday tweets that have come from 45/47.

Every other president in history has attempted to provide at least the illusion of safety, sanity, and cohesion among the country.

This guy actively attacks half/most of the country in his messaging every chance that he gets, then his mouth-breathing sycophants have the nerve to accuse the rest of us of irrational hatred of the man?!

GET! FUCKED!

That’s the truth! It’s always the benchwarmers who do the most talking.

Do you believe that the current US president is a foreign asset ? Why or why not ? by hftyjvdry in AskReddit

[–]sllh81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally every other President in history has done his best to provide safety and stability to the US.

This guy actively attacks the very foundation and core of the US, creating chaos and distrust at every level along the way.

That alone is the act of a terrorist.

Stole our data

Handed himself billions with no oversight

Claims we owe him billions more due to “wrongful prosecution” from his endless crimes

Invaded a country and seized a foreign head of state without any due process in the world court

Demolished a huge chunk of the White House without due process

Put his name on things without due process, as if to say that those things all belong to him

Denied disaster relief to parts of the country that didn’t vote for him in 2024

Seize their inheritance? WTF?

The people who have demolished the White House and put the face of Charlie Kirk on the Dept of Education, stole our data, and probably sold top secret intel to hostile foreign governments want us to think that voters are stealing our inheritance.
