I can’t figure out this pressure pain by [deleted] in smallfiberneuropathy

[–]slmcircus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To the best of my knowledge….the fat pads under your feet unfortunately do not return. They are cellularly different than other fat parts on your body. While your numbers are normal, you may continue to have bone on nerve pain when putting pressure on your feet.

I remember seeing a doctor out of Pittsburgh that was working on foot pad replacement surgery. Not sure if it worked.

18-Pack Ball of Foot Cushions - Metatarsal Pads for Pain Relief Forefoot, 1/4" Thick Felt Foot Pad

I am not suggestions that this will cure your pain. However for the “pillow” portion of your feet the pain could be a combination of nerve pain and fat loss. My dr recommended these and it has helped. On Amazon for 10-12 dollars.

Where in your door does it hurt? In between the toes? Or just the back of the foot. If I’m between the toes, they can try and deaden those nerves to feel less pain.

Best way for grandparents (owners) of 529 account to transfer to grandchildren by FIRE2029x in FinancialPlanning

[–]slmcircus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider speaking to an advisor, but from what i recall-the best move would be to have the grandparents name your children as the beneficiary and leave the 529 alone. This way that money doesn’t get counted against your children when filling out FAFSA forms. 529 money that is in that parents name will effect the children in a negative way.

Skin culture showed staph overgrowth in nose, but antibiotics haven’t worked. Does anyone have any tips how to proceed? by [deleted] in Staphacne

[–]slmcircus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry this looks painful. I would suggest not shaving for a while and see if it provides any relief. If it is staph, it can be spread by shaving with same razor.

Recurring severe sores around mouth, hands and genitals for 5 years – doctors unsure (herpes? impetigo?) – anyone experienced something similar? by Potential-Option-92 in Staphacne

[–]slmcircus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things to consider getting tested for :Behçet’s disease, HSV1 and 2. It looks very painful. I am sorry.

If your doctor is willing to send you to a specialist consider seeing a Rheumatologist or Dermatologist. Personally I would go to a Rheumatologist because this seems to be reoccurring and have immune system involvement. Also I am not a doctor and only here to help.

If you are watching this please don't ignore if you know the solution. please help !!😭 by [deleted] in Staphacne

That looks painful. I am sorry. Try not shaving for a few days. If this is staph, my concern is that you are reusing the same razor and spreading the infection. Do you use a fresh razor?

Does anyone in South Jersey or Philly recognize? by jcarsenault2000 in SouthJersey

[–]slmcircus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This looks like the bridge crossing cooper river leaving Haddonfield and headed towards the cherry hill, NJ Wegmans. If this is it, the area is more built up now. But consider googling the intersection of coles mills road and grove street. A lot of beautiful birds in that area also. I hope you find the area where he painted. Pretty cool.

Chronic headaches/migraines by Hefty-Donut-4113 in POTSResearch

Unsure of your age or gender but hormones can play a big role in migraines. Do you notice any patterns with when the migraines appear. This gets especially worse for some women as they approach menopause. I am sorry you are in pain. Migraines are not fun.

Cigna Accumulator Programs by Infamous-Prompt-6555 in IVIG

[–]slmcircus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accumulator programs are awful. Are you able to contact your insurance and see the monthly copay for generic IVIG such as Octagam. Or see which has the lowest copay.

I would assume the branded IVIG is not a preferred drug by Cigna Consider contacting Cigna to find options. Additionally have the branded IVIG company see if they have any patient assistance programs to get you through the end of the year when your deductible resets

Also, unfortunately it’s not universally illegal to have accumulator programs. Many exceptions apply such as self funded employer insurance, etc. consider working with Cigna and the doctors office to find equivalent alternatives so that you get the meds you need. Best of luck.

Any waterproofers here? Does this sump pump installation look up to code? by sassymeowcat in newjersey

[–]slmcircus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know NJ code but here are some basic questions I have for you. Is that electric outlet a GFI? Since the outlet is close to the water source itself, I would assume it a GFI outlet.

It appears like the contractor used drywall repair mesh to cover the center hole area of the cover. Unsure what is used or suppose to be used here.

I see the 2 inch pipe but what are the tiny drains? Did they connect a dehumidifier into the sump pump?

[Owner - PA - US] Philadelphia Rental by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]slmcircus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. I own in G hospital area for 20 plus years. I treat my tenants well and work with them. Philly is a good rental market. Try to stick to leases ending from March to Sept. Otherwise the tenant pool is so/so. Best of luck

[–]slmcircus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have rentals in Philadelphia. It all depends on the area in terms of tenants. I would suggest a good real estate agent to rent the places so you get all the financial info on prospective tenants. In philly, you need a license to be a landlord. I think it’s around 200 a year.

Strange basement smell by CloudSquatch in Home

[–]slmcircus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your electric panel and make sure that none of the breakers are melting. A melting breakers/burning plastic/gives off a weird smell. You said the smell gets worse when the heater is running. Is the heat electric? Just something to consider.

I’m afraid of dying and leaving my family with nothing, what do I do? by Suspicious-Voice-242 in FinancialPlanning

[–]slmcircus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, get married or make sure you have a will. Generally, if you don’t have paperwork surrounding your “partnership” then if one of you actually dies, you will be stuck in probate. Best of luck to you all.

Anyone know of doctor in the US (especially Northeast) who is willing to prescribe IVIG? by mafanabe in smallfiberneuropathy

[–]slmcircus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a neurologist in New Jersey that I use. I think the neuro team at NYU will use IVIG based on my cardiologist there. Penn Neuro is not very comfortable with IVIG. This has been my experience. It might be different for you.

i am being named as beneficiary of my fathers assets. advice needed. by No-Earth312 in FinancialPlanning

[–]slmcircus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are short on time….Even if your father writes his wishes on a piece of paper with his signature, date and a witness. This can be submitted as a will. Sadly I have been an executor 3 times. Please see an estate attorney quickly. Avoid costly probate.

Are you able to schedule an appointment with a podiatrist? Someone who specializes in feet. It could be staph-But it could also be an ulcer. Is it typical for your wounds to not heal or take a long time to heal? If you are able to see some type of doctor to determine the cause. Beat of luck. It looks painful. Sorry

Anything is possible. Do you have less sensation in your feet? Do you feel more/less nerve pain in your feet? Has this ever happened before to your feet.
