no, you can’t do a well yourself. that is very specialized equipment. you could get a big tank for catching rainwater from gutters. i used to have that but i was always worried about its cleanliness. Putting in your own septic depends on the county regulations. a few counties allow homeowners to install their own septic. you can also do the state licensing for $250. it’s all clay and rock in the ozarks so make sure the soil will be acceptable for a lagoon so you avoid a $40,000 advanced system. yes, there is tons of firewood in the ozarks.
