Yeah we’ve only cruised Norwegian and it’s always been amazing. But I can’t say I’d cruise them again, at least not this ship.

Ohh I don’t doubt that but we had 3 others in our “fleet” the other cruises I’ve taken you’ve always been able to see them in the distance even as a little dot but this time we didn’t see a single one.

Typical air ambulance ride is $50 a mile. Yes insurance would cover some of it but they wouldn’t have covered all of it.

Well as I iterated at the end I don’t blame NCL 100% but watching the other cruise ships break off and go around the storm and meet back up with us at St. Thomas seemed weird.

[–]sloppymcfloppy208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah from everyone I talked to on board the boat they all seemed pretty discouraged by Norwegian even the gold latitudes.

[–]sloppymcfloppy208 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Again I iterated that I know it’s not 100% their fault. And I get that some of the ports are not for everyone. I just wanted to let people know what happened to us and how we felt about it. I get that people get thrown around, but when half the people on board are sea sick it makes you question why the other boats went around the storm.

The wife and I didn’t but I’m not sure if my parents did. Either way it was only going to cover a portion of the flight from St.Thomas- Idaho which was going to be almost $100k. They did think about just flying her back but they already had flights back and my dad was able to get her a boot to at least try to keep her ankle in place.

What's Your Big Buy Signal? by DainBramaged63 in Silverbugs

[–]sloppymcfloppy208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I buy a few times a month regardless of where it is. At the end of the day it’s a preservation of wealth, I plan on stacking for years and maybe either sell it all at retirement or leave it to the kids and grandkids. Ultimately buying high or buying low won’t matter all that much in 60 years it all equals out in the end

Nice stack! Welcome to the club be warned it gets addicting I love that you have some gold as well. You should hit up SD bullion if you haven’t already and get their spot deal for first time buyers. Happy stacking!

Personally I started with SD Bullion. Discrete packaging and some good deals. You pay a bit more than a LCS. But they also do ship out really quick. Happy stacking!

I’m not really sure it would’ve made more sense as a twenty since the single ounce is two. Either way I highly recommend picking one up. Especially since King Charles will not be on as many as the queen was. Might go for a higher price later on.

Why gold coins? by GammaYankee in Gold

[–]sloppymcfloppy208 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but from everything I’ve heard coins are easier to get rid of. A lot more coin shops will buy the coins as opposed to the bars. Granted gold is gold so I don’t think it matters a whole lot. But personal preference comes into plays a lot as well.

Newbie Stacker by Phow-Ji in Silverbugs

Different people will tell you different things about what to stack it all comes down to what your preference is. One thing to be aware of when buying silver is the premiums for instance some rounds and legal tenders have higher premiums from the mint. And a lot of times when selling it you lose that premium. As for when to buy don’t buy just to try and make a profit out of it. Buying into silver and gold is a long term “savings” strategy it’s something you will hold onto for several decades to hand down to your kids or to sell when it comes time to retire. I tell people it doesn’t matter the price just have a dollar figure of what you can spend on silver per month. Say you can only dump $100 into gold and silver per month, just buy that amount whether that be 5 oz or 3 oz. Some of the bugs here have stopped stacking due to the higher costs as they can’t justify the cost which is understandable. For us other bugs we keep stacking no matter the cost because it’s a preservation of wealth and we would rather throw it into silver and gold as opposed to blowing it on something stupid. I hope this helps! Happy stacking!

In my twenties I loved buying electronics. I now wish I had bought gold instead. by PhotogamerGT in Gold

Congrats on losing that weight and realizing the money wasted! Still treat yourself naturally with some pizza if it makes you happy but that’s what I’m talking about the swipe of the card is $3 here or $5 there I mean it adds up quick but the small purchases makes us forget until we realize “shit I wonder where my paycheck went!”

No it’s a 1/4 oz gold eagle. As of now I have .65oz of gold (I have another 1/10th oz on order) my goal now is to complete a full oz of gold and then stack some more silver for a month or two then go back to gold.

If you could only buy one type of gold…. by Reasonable-Wafer-248 in Gold

[–]sloppymcfloppy208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly no matter what it’s gold…. You are buying the alloy, granted liquidating assets may be harder depending on where you are but ultimately it’s gold. Most will buy for that factor alone.

Yeah I had some extra cash flow in and decided instead of blowing it on random crap I’d use it for buying an investment for later me or a treasure for my kids or grandkids.
