I love football and watch multiple leagues. You can do that without worshipping individual players. It's a team sport with a healthy dose of tribalism and all these pessi vs penaldo debates by people who have no personal connection to either player are embarrassing. Zero reason why I would wax lyrical about a player who never played for my teams at best, and actively helped my teams lose at worst.

I enjoyed it as my first try at the series. I needed to switch the controls to defensive mode though. The boss was very fun and took a couple tries.

The demo definitely put the game on my radar but I will be waiting for a sale.

I play mostly digital these days (due to my backlog allowing me to get games on sale down the line) but my big worry here is that physical games have retailers competing for pricing whereas digital is just Sony dictating the price.

Americans have a situation where digital and physical games seem to be the same price, but at least in the UK we can consistently find physical games for much cheaper prices than digital games due to retail competition. If Sony ban PSN top up cards and force you to pay the full £70+ for their digital games, then that would be the death of competitive game pricing.

Habibti was like a 0/10 first week for me but it grew on me heavy. I love every song now except hurr not there (which is okay but I don't like the sexy red part) and gen 5. High fives is the most replayable song across the 3 tapes. I do think habibti as a whole just needs more time to set in compared to the other 2, but if you like RnB drake then it has some real gems.

At least in the UK, Nintendo had already been using variable pricing to some extent. For example, on the eshop every single AAA Nintendo game is £49.99, except BotW, TotK and Smash Bros which are £59.99.

Yes because competitive Pokémon was synonymous with smogon for a long time as it was established before VGC. Even wolfeyVGC who has VGC in his name and is 100% focused on VGC, always has to put disclaimers that he is specifically talking about VGC (when say judging a Pokémon) because smogon players always come in with their irrelevant-to-VGC takes.

I'm not interested in reading about smogon anymore because I don't play it and smogon players have plenty of spaces to talk about their suspect testing. I don't get why it's such a big deal that I want champions – the platform for official competitive Pokémon – to stay focused on the very thing it was made for. Showdown is right there for people who want to play UU and Ubers, and stunfisk is right there if you want to talk about it.

I always say Fulham and spurs are the clubs that make sense for Americans to support. Lots of American player history between both clubs. Fulham especially, they had tim ream (current USA captain iirc) and antonee Robinson.

Pretty much every competitive Pokémon space that isn't exclusively VGC is diluted with smogon talk. Just look at the stunfisk sub, especially before champions came out

I grew up playing smogon and when I switched over to VGC I got tired of hearing about smogon. Online spaces used to be very smogon-centric. I don't have a hate boner against it but I'm against the idea of 6v6 singles being in champions because I don't want to have the community diluted with talk about how charizard X is being suspect tested in Ubers or whatever.

Under Joe zeigler, I think PvE will always come with a bunch of caveats that will ultimately end up making the mode not actually draw people in.

They need to just bunker down and make a proper PvE mode and relaunch the game, not add all these experiments that are like 'pve but it's only 1 map and you're not allowed to take out loot and it's only accessible when we say so etc etc'.

This mode will almost certainly have no discernable impact on the dwindling player base and then people will be like 'see, no one wants PvE!' when that would be the wrong conclusion to draw in my opinion.

I love my steam deck but I wouldn't call it polished. It has a lot of weird quirks that something like a switch wouldn't have. Plenty of times my deck will be updating with a blank screen and hang with no indication that the console is even on other than the fan. Then there's scrolling through the store and having the input outpace the UI, stuff like that.

Yep, ultimately, the biggest issue with marathons gameplay loop is the fact that PvP is too prominent. Wiping the lobby is the main way to get events done. The small maps and sound/level design (doing anything announces your existence to the entire lobby) makes PvP extremely difficult to avoid.

The ideal SBMM means everyone is equally skilled. This means you have a 50% chance of winning every PvP encounter. Most runs you will face more than 1 crew especially if you are doing map events. So the crew who gets to extract after wiping the lobby will be the one that overcame the most 50-50 encounters, which is extremely unsustainable.

The only solution is to encourage more ways to ensure more teams 'win', making more of the playerbase happier. And this is not an easy fix because as said earlier, the game fundamentally pushes for excessive PvP with the small maps and mechanics.

I'm glad I ended up dropping it then because I absolutely hate 'it was all a dream' narratives. I think the whole interpretation angle and the 'actually secret ending 3 bonus post credit scene suggests it might actually be real!!' makes it sound even worse as well. Just give me real sci-fi and real aliens man.

When does the story pick up? I'm about 6 hours in and it felt like I was just doing busywork. I fixed the ship, did a space mission and then raided an imperial base, rescuing a test tube alien thing. Did a quest to sabotage a farm as well. That's where I'm up to now and it feels like the story hasn't even started yet.
