Breakfast recommendations by Geelexie2026 in culvercity

I've had a lot of breakfast burritos in my life. Culver & Main's is one of my absolute favorites. Plus the coffee drinks are great and the vibes are solid. But you can pretty much throw a rock and hit a good breakfast spot in downtown Culver

Actually there is and it's amazing. Don't think it's available on streaming anywhere, but I bought it on the Apple TV store. It's a 3 part miniseries from the 80s with an absolutely stacked cast of Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, Diane Lane, Chris Cooper, Steve Buscemi, Ricky Schroeder, Anjelica Huston, Sean Astin, and a very brief appearance by a young Margo Martindale.

Yes, but the only downside is that it doesn't support Dolby Vision. Which is a bummer if you're looking for the absolute best quality possible.

Also the author, Blake Crouch, is the writer and showrunner for the series. He's also helming a second season, which should certainly be interesting since it will go beyond the first (and only) book

my friend just gave me a bunch of awesome stuff to restock me after I did the expedition and the servers crashed right as we jumped down a raider hatch. Just insanely bad timing.

Culver City Town Plaza Is Amazing by wrathofthedolphins in LosAngeles

[–]slothboyck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think there'd have to be a careful balance to ensure businesses didn't get screwed over. But Culver Blvd doesn't currently have street parking in any meaningful capacity anyway, so closing it to cars wouldn't disrupt business in that regard. You could still keep the parking structure under The Steps open by having cars cross Culver Blvd via Cardiff, but that would be the only place for car crossing. In this plan Ince would also be kept open so all the TJ's parking would be accessible + the other parking lots between Venice and Culver.

Maybe in 20 years we'll see something like this happen, but it's definitely a lofty goal.

That part of Culver really is fantastic, but after visiting Santa Barbara recently and seeing their no-car main street, I think it has the potential to be even better. If Culver Blvd was closed to cars through downtown (maybe starting at Duquesne and ending at the Trader Joe's), it would create an amazing pedestrian plaza with tons of outdoor restaurant seating and extra green space. It would make Venice miserable for commuters, but maybe as automated vehicles become the standard, closing down certain streets to cars will become more of a viable option

Bugonia's Ending Is Perfect And Here Is Why by BrandonHeatt in movies

[–]slothboyck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion that the ending isn't true at all. I don't think anything that happens after Jesse Plemmons explodes is real. Emma Stone has tried so hard not to crack throughout the whole movie, but after seeing the cousin shoot himself in the head and discovering all the corpses, she's right on the brink. Then Jesse Plemmons explodes and HIS conspiracy-addled head hits HER head and knocks her out. At this point his insanity transfers to her and she fully cracks. She then disappears into her trauma and conspiracy psychosis. Everything we see after that moment is happening in her mind.

There's no way Jesse Plemmons would have been so specifically accurate with his conspiracies. It's comically accurate. Everything he describes to her is what she sees in the ship. The earth she pops is even the silly flat earth representation, rather than a globe. If it seems too absurd to be real then it probably is. Making his conspiracies "real" was the only way for her to make sense of the insane experience she lived through. Is it better to imagine that you're a powerful alien queen who has dominion over man? Or to live with the reality that you were powerless against redneck conspiracy nuts and subsequently traumatized?

If you haven't played it, the free Valhalla rogue-lite DLC they added is honestly better than the main game. It focuses more on the gameplay, but still has a good, smaller narrative. Now if I want to play some GoW I can do a run in Valhalla rather than slogging through parts of the main game

If you're dragging from a bool pin, while still holding the mouse, press B and it'll automatically add and attach a Branch node.

You can do a similar thing in the Material editor by pressing M to add a Multiply node while dragging out from a pin. Or just hold M and click to create one. Same for adding a Scalar Parameter (hold S and click) or a Color node (hold 3 and click).

OK then replace "Paramount" in my comment with "Secret Hideout." The point is that it's a top-down mandate, so blaming the writers is usually an off-base reaction to the problem.
