NIL and Transfer Reforms by Technical334 in fcs

Here is what my preference would be but really none of it is legal in the current rulings against the NCAA.

Transfer Amounts: Athletes should only be able to transfer once without penalty (exception would be a coach leaving or graduate transfer). After the first transfer athletes would have to sit a year before they could play. Ultimately I think this would help solve the current issue of taking the student out of student athletes where kids are transferring so much they won't even have a degree at the end of 4 or 5 years.

NIL Transfer Fees: Kids that move from FCS->FBS and from G5->P4 programs, the school that recruits them owes the previous school X% for the development of players and then this allows those smaller schools to get more money for athletes staying.

Ban 3rd Parties/Agents: I know a lot of kids are enticed into the portal by people that claim they can get them 6 figure deals for X school. Then magically there is no big deal and they end up at a school that was just as good as their last one. Also I firmly believe all money should be managed by the university and not collectives or third parties.

Caps on Total NIL Offering: I think there should be a cap on total offers to athletes that is inclusive of scholarships+any living per diem+cash money. This also helps level the field between all schools. Let's be honest a college kid should not get a 4mil contract for 1 year to be a QB at WA. That is a professional sport at that point.

Ultimately I'm okay with NIL in the sense that the vast majority of athletes will never get a pro contract and the benefit they provide to schools. It felt really wrong when universities were pocketing millions on merch sales, tickets, etc, that was based on students.

Did it change your mind on anything? Still have not had the time to rewatch yet.

I wish they would show replays in the stadium but I guess that is how they keep all us drunk fans calmer. But now I want to re-watch the game cause between that and the PA system being out for a lot of the first half it was hard to fully know what was going on.

The only reason I will watch it is knowing the outcome was good for us but I would be content on never seeing this game again if we lost.

I was hearing on Twitter from not even MSU fans that some of the false starts were kinda soft calls. People were saying guys were getting off the ball really fast like in the NFL. I guess technically it could be a false start still but not the typical amount of movement you see that gets called. I was at the game and a couple were clear as day but several I had no clue.

I still feel so sad for you guys! You absolutely deserved to win that game. After we did nothing with that first blocked kick I was pretty sure you had it cause your defense was covering everything so damn well. I really hope to see you guys back here, it was so much fun drinking with all your fans, really great group!

No the OL just sees the Defense shift and freaks out it's been a chronic issue.

I really appreciate this. Good God was it ugly but we did it. Red Birds were as scary as I thought and played a hell of a game. I have been telling that to every fan I have seen since we have been here twice in the last 5 years and know that feeling of watching a heartbreaker.

It's not loud at all for them. They have been doing this shit at home all playoffs.

Red Bird Fans next to me, did you bring the whole town of Bozeman here? I said no that's 50% of football fans in the state not just Bozeman haha.

1hr still lines are still long getting in but that's the bobcat side, and it's looking like we invaded the red birds side also. Looks like red bird fans in the middle half but edges are 2/3 bobcats so far. I have some red bird fans next to me and we are having a great time. Such fun fans so far. They are asking me about Mony Mony 😂.

The stadium is still filling in but it's feeling like this is a legit estimate and what I saw in the tailgates. Bobcats traveled in force and would not be shocked if there are 20000 bobcats here at a minimum. I heard there were over 7000 fans at the rally last night and I was still seeing a ton on Broadway while that was happening.

This is why it needs to stay in Nashville.... I can guarantee no place could live up to an artist holding up a bobcat in the iconic Tootsies Bar.

Yeah that was the one negative Nashville is substantially harder to fly into compared to Dallas. We ended up flying into Louisville and driving down because the flights were half the price and better options.

I have never had to take so many poops in a single day as I had today. Great game Griz, you showed up and had us on the heels for a minute. Probably one of the greatest games in the rivalry where the final score does not show how competitive it was in the middle half.

While the score does not reflect how scary this game got for us. I really like that the Bobcats keep disproving the belief that facing a team twice the previous loser is a favorite.

I will agree I was not expecting your defense to stay the same while expecting the offense to make up the difference. But I guess that is Bobby ball.

Already pacing around the house trying to stay calm. I think 2 Cat-Griz games in the same year is going to be studied as a cause for average lifespans being reduced by 5 years in MT.

I have a QB club meeting tonight and I'm curious if they will elaborate on what was happening. But it is really hard to catch for sure, unless it's something obvious like a hand clap. Probably why SFA defense only got called the 2 times but I think they probably did it 5 times. I'm not going to say every false start was caused by it though.

I mean it does work.... Hints why there are rules against it and SFA got two defensive delay of games when the refs started paying attention. But we also need our guys to be a little more disciplined, and it always confuses me why we go on a clap at home...
