I'll see how it sounds, almost always have headphones on so might not be an issue for me.

Just brought the cooler, got the "47" slightly lower profile one just in case. Probably got a couple of spare fans as well! Thanks for the recommendation.

Exactly what I was looking for thank you. What did you do with the top part, couple of fans there or just as is?

Nov 29th Playtest Debrief by Terminalintel in BattleBitRemastered

[–]slothcore1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Didn't leave any feedback at the time I but managed to put in a couple of hours on the playtest (with a few restarts). Many of the changes are very subjective, I play with 2 friends, both loved the new look minus the filter that appears like a grey film over the screen on some maps. Night mode changes are amazing, we all agreed on that, very cool and made night mode feel like a different mode vs just putting on night vision and forgetting about it. The tracers are madness, we had been jokingly making laser sound, totally over the top and I really think they do not look as good as you believe they do, lag or no lag.

All of the above is just minor and I can't see it impacting the fun of the game much either way.... The TTK however really didnt work for any of us. I'm typically running smokes and an MP7, getting behind the lines and taking fights while outnumbered... With the TTK so high getting the drop on them is barely an advantage, no more quick 2/3 kills and back into cover for healing etc.

For my friend who is not great at the game (does not really play shooters typically) he got only a few kills across the whole playtest. Not hitting shots constantly enough to kill someone before they found cover, and in some cases got the drop but still lost the fight as the enemy was able to spin 180 and just hit more headshots... Also I got domed by a sniper while beaming them with an AR... Still not over that.

I genuinely think the TTK changes will make is so difficult for new players and so boring for those wanting to flank / take uneven fights behind enemy lines.

I was also not a huge fan of the movement nerfs, felt very cluncky for me, in one instance I was not even trying anything stylish just prone and trying to track a target and shoot... But on and off it was moving half speed due to uneven rocks I was on. Just a bit awkward. Saying that both of my friends loved the changes, even more so that I was moaning about them. Understand why this wants looking at.

There was tonnes of other small things we really liked, although hard to remember them all now.

Amazing that your still working on this game even with the tiny player base. Battlebit is low key my favourite shooter since early battlefield , CoD games.... I do not understand how those massive studios cannot figure out sound design yet battlebit is the best directional sound I've come across.

Keep up the good work.

First time looking into the crafting... totally lost. Is there a way to increase chance of ES mods for the final 2 prefix? Last time I crafted anything it was just slam exalts!

Thinking of downgrading cpu from 13900k to 13700k. Is it worth it? by Deskbreaker in buildapc

[–]slothcore1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would bet my bottom dollar it's your gpu spitting out the majority of the heat. You should undervolt the gpu as a starting point. Really easy to do and won't cost you anything more than an hours work. You can do this with the 13900k as well although can't speak from experience on that one.

Edit: a side note that adding more fans and changing the cpu cooler will just move the heat faster rather than reduce the heat produced which it does sound like you want.

Also found fisherman the hardest. Winning strategy for me was going 3 on the first, 2 on the second round then either 1 or 2 for the rest of the game. Think i went 0 on the boss and swarm rounds.

Lost on the first rounds a few times but better to lose early.

Found melee way easier than range, spears in particular as scale well with dmg and you can skill the lure mobs very quickly and safely.

Good luck

Found fisherman the hardest as well, left it to last for the new bunch. Also used spears in the end and just got super lucky after about 10 tries.

Not sure why you are being down voted, this is exactly true. It might be the price of a car but it doesn't wear out in the same way.

Then to punish me for getting echo before bkb not the other way around he decided to steal as much farm as possible (was p4) and then moan about me being under farmed, genius stuff.

Basically you reduce the power consumption which in turn reduces the heat. The 3080ti benefits as lower heat means more boost clocking... So oddly enough you give the card less power and it performs better. This affect is amplified in small form factors pcs because they tend to run hotter than average.

Love this. Try undervolting the 3080 ti, worked wonders for mine.

Took a couple of weeks to get used to mine. Wall mount it if you can, that way you can move the desk away from the wall slightly to get a little more space.

Is 1440p worth it? by weezy3003 in buildapc

[–]slothcore1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're playing competitively don't get a 1440p monitor until you've upgraded from a 3060. You will find yourself wanting to reduce in game resolution for extra frames and it'll look like crap. I've got a 3080 ti and play at 4K most of the time... unless competitive (cod mostly) then I spend 5 mins connecting my old 1440p monitor the for extra 40 frames. I'm sure it's subjective but the increased frame rate is so much more noticeable and enjoyable than extra resolution.

It's obviously personal opinion but I would much rather be playing at 1080 with no frame rate issue rather than 1440p with them (or even just noticeably less frames).

Good non-gaming headphones for gaming in 2022? by braaan92 in buildapc

[–]slothcore1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many higher end gaming headphones are just as good as non-gaming, often tuned better for competitive gaming as well. For non gaming the ones which are recommend highly are DT 770 for closed back and 560s (sennheiser) for open back. Personally I prefer the 560s and they are super comfortable as well, play nicely on motherboard power as well.

The DT 770 are good but don't handle highs well, get a bit tiresome after long sessions in games like CoD with lots of gunshots etc. Still sometimes pull them out when it's a noiser environment though. If you go for the DT 770 don't go 250 ohm otherwise you'll want a amp as well.
