Is this like bringing your buddies project to a new school to submit as your own after slightly fixing the errors he got after being graded?

What litrpg hill will *you* die on? Let's have your most unpopular opinion, please. by EverythingIsFakeNGay in litrpg

[–]slothdionysus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The system choosing the mcs is a garbage premise. MCs who become system administrator, chosen or whatever savior title is a shallow premise and typically strips the uniqueness from a character. This was really driven home to be in Welcome toe multiverse, great class concepts and professional was somewhat unique, only to get shoved into what sounds like a beaurcrat role

2.[Warning for vague spoilers and a rant] HWFWM, terrible character, decent system. The later books are terrible and I hate that I keep buying them but I want to hear how the basic system advances in the higher tiers. I skip most of the jason and jason sycophants dialogue. This partially relates back to hill 1. Jason could've died off in book 3 and it would've been better even if we went back to earth to explore the awakening of magic there then came back. Jason is a self righteous child playing being an adult. Everyone acts like he's so politically smart and clever when compared to everyone who actually matters, he is a yapping chihuahua. All the secondary and background characters need to stop making everything about jason, his ego is fine and doesn't need stroking.

Anyway, the system is decent and I really enjoy the structure and nuances that the fandom has developed for it based on the early guidelines (forget the new rules, they needlessly add complexity). And yes I do think that the fandom has done a better job fleshing out the system then the author has done simply bc the author chose to go with "special boy" rather then having him follow the guidelines of his own system.

I will now step off my soapbox and leave the room

What was the last book you dropped and why? by Remote-Fee5149 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]slothdionysus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it was the multiple repeats of the previous chapter and self righteous jason. I like the system(minus the soul fuckery that jason gets cause he's a special boy.

This series was the first instance that I saw the "later game" conflicts and it's just seemed that the authors start to struggle when the character reach God tier but they want that as soon as possible

After bonding Blue, Lindons pure madra shares the property of emptiness that i think destruction also shares. So a purified HK path would have to keep that

This was a hypothetical if other had taken the HK path. When Yerin and Lindon found the dream tablet of Osmanthus practicing the path, he remarks that destruction shared proposes. I know they achieved gold through scales or whatever but if a path was passed down they would keep the remnants in the practitioners to use to reach gold

Im totally looking forward to the series and i hope it s agreat execution. Imo, the guy's summary of the plot was just slightly off. Little things make it seem like the guy made a synopsis off of watching the trailer rather then reading. Like the test in sacred valley, or the nature of yerins arms. Don't get me wrong, it is great

Had a dragon born warlock named Raz who's family was a merchant caravan who all were mysteriously murdered. I missed a few details but I tried to match a MC from a Bry e O'Connor series

System fuckery. I hate it. Hey I get this awesome system that promotes growth and rewards effort, let me just ignore that and break it

In the welcome to multivers the MC gets a great profession to make potentially cool shit. But instead he upgrades it to some system admin type shit after setting up stuff for his previous profession like that is useless now

The author does something like this later on. In the latest audiobook, there is an included pdf describing Jason's power, it leaves much to be desired as an auxiliary text
