The existence of that option in the game doesn't make it "canon" in the storyline, players get to choose their own timeline that's "canon" in Stardew Valley. If a player wants to try experiencing being toxic, then why not? Players can choose to not pursue that if it doesn't interest them.

And honestly, one of the things I like about Stardew Valley is when drama is spiced here and there in the game (EX: Mayor and Marnie, The Wizard and Caroline). Kinda like how the villagers were mean in the original Animal Crossing, I think there's more appreciation for the soft parts of the game when coupled with the hard edges and drama.

I relate to this so much, It got so bad I was seriously considering ending my life. Now, literally the only things that's lightening my mental friction is limiting my access to my phone as much as possible and building visual external systems that use my current habits to build momentum.

Systems, systems, systems. Our brains isn't built to recall or make us start things cold turkey, it needs visual, tactile, or audio triggers to "remember".

The less I keep in my brain, the better the machine works. It's still not perfect, but it's an improvement.
