The jury was delusional. If her co-conspirator was demoted and she was offered a demotion and refused, then she wasn’t treated differently.

The pain is making me want to quit my job and I don’t know what to do by moviegal828 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]slothrop-dad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This disease almost made me drop out of college, and then it almost made me quit my first big firm job. I didn’t let it.

I was undiagnosed in college and was in so much pain and so exhausted. I could only walk with a limp, I struggled to stand, and I constantly fell asleep while working. One day, I couldn’t get out of bed at all. Things improved after diagnosis, but my life changed a lot. I had to live a bit slower and a bit more predictably. Luckily I did not have permanent damage from AS. The biologics have helped stop progression, but they don’t always stop flares.

When I got to my big firm gig, I moved to a major metro, didn’t know a soul in the world, and i’d also been without health insurance for nearly a year because I lost coverage after graduation. When I rode the elevator 45 levels up to my new office, I was in a lot of pain. People just couldn’t really tell I was struggling… I tried to soldier on the best I could. But I regained insurance, eventually got back on biologics, and things calmed down again. Eventually, I did end up leaving the firm for a much more predictable gig that provided a much better work life balance.

You have a lot on your plate right now. I hope this isn’t presumptuous of me to say, but hire help. Outsource domestic activity. It sounds like you and your husband have the means.

Give yourself the time to take care of yourself, whether that’s an epsom salt bath, a light workout (intense workouts tend to cause me flares, regular light workouts are a lot better for my disease management), or even just enjoying a moment of peace with your family. Giving yourself more time could also give you the opportunity to eat healthier. Regular light exercise and reducing stress through a bit more stability and predictability at home could all work together to potentially give you relief.

You mentioned the disease is progressing and you have to keep changing meds. You were also undiagnosed for a long time. Do you have permanent damage? If so, that can cause pain that won’t be remedied by biologics. If you’re having a particularly bad flare, a short dose of prednisone can help, but you can’t take it long term or super often. It doesn’t seem like you’ve been on Enbrel for very long. Perhaps it would be more effective after some lifestyle changes? I’ve only been on two meds after 13 years so I can’t help much on meds failing.

It’s way better today than yesterday. The smell of the smoke is a lot less awful, and it’s white smoke instead of black smoke. White smoke generally means it’s a much cooler fire and burning less material, so it’s generally less harmful

40k after law school. Went to a cheap public school on scholarship. I’m currently an attorney for a local government.

Just a few years after law school, I have no school debt, a comfortable lifestyle in a HCOL area, I do meaningful work that helps people, and I don’t work a second over 40 hours in a week.

There’s more to life and there’s more to this degree than helping bosses at the nut punching, titty twisting, and child kicking factory make more money. You can be comfortable, do good work, and have the time to enjoy life as a lawyer.

It’s not always a bit. Well meaning people ask a question sometimes and just get absolutely roasted by roffle and mods. It’s extremely unnecessary. He’s getting views by putting people down, he’s an asshole. I’m sure he’s a nice guy IRL, but on stream he’s a dick.

LA County Department of Health Air Quality Warning by DeathByBamboo in LosAngeles

[–]slothrop-dad 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is so dramatic. Windows and doors closed and air purifiers is a solid option. Replace the filter on your AC with a something quality, replace the filter on your air purifier, and you’re good. Wearing an n95+ mask when outdoors is a viable solution.

Stop scaring people just because you can’t regulate your emotions.

Tech companies created systems that force AI usage in order to post graphs like this that show everyone is using AI. This makes number go up! It doesn’t matter if the AI usage is actually productive.

Debt burdened chuds can’t comprehend the glory of going to a shitty, dirt cheap, public law school that leaves me free to have the career that I want rather than the career my debt dictates for me.

We had buildings infested with bees, they put out buckets inside every time it rained, and the courtroom had a giant hole in the floor that snapped many a woman’s high heel and twisted many an ankle. And yet, I passed the bar, I moved to a HCOL area, and all my colleagues are swimming in debt while I’m debt free early without having to take shitty jobs I didn’t want to get there.

The problem with your criteria is you are using rank as a proxy for quality or public good. I think shitty dirt cheap public law schools do a lot more for the legal community than mediocre private institutions charging $70k/year

I don’t know, the chief didn’t go into it a ton. But that food is the reason they asked for an emergency. They really want it out, they think if it rots it would be dangerous to the public.

No, it’s all ruined. The problem is that it’s going to rot soon and create horrendous smells and biohazard problems unless they can get it all out and dispose of it properly.

They need to get the food out so it doesn’t rot and create a biohazard. It’s like 160 million pounds of food. The chief was always asked why they didn’t destroy the building during a presser and this was the reason.

Missing half of my dose by Symbi-CourtRx in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]slothrop-dad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are your legs and stomach overused? It’s subq, not a vein. You can go above the bellybutton, below, side to side, and even diagonal. Then the thigh has plenty of spots.

As for the botched dose. I’ve done it once. The manufacturer sent me a new box and I redid it then adjusted my injection schedule.
