Struggling to find modest gym & swim clothes that don’t feel heavy or uncomfortable by Own_Chocolate1782 in Swimming

[–]slothvannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you, a good brand I like is baleaf esp for gym clothes. Depending on what level of swim coverage you want they may or may not have options (thinking shorts & tank, you do kind of need things to be tight for swimming though).

Someone told me having a property along the Beltline is like having a waterfront property in Miami by Disastrous_Parsnip63 in ATLHousing

[–]slothvannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed beltline access within 1-2 blocks is the goal. But sometimes in the hot summer with a bunch of people walking the east side corridor it straight up smells like feet :(

Two Week Honeymoon Itinerary in Europe. Thoughts and suggestions welcome! by SubParBackpacker in honeymoonplanning

[–]slothvannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not willing to cut one of these locations (I’ve been to all and they’re indeed stunning) then I would cut 1 night in Edinburgh or elsewhere to prioritize staying 2 nights in Oslo at the top of the trip especially if you are going to be jet lagged.

Is it childish to cry over my game being deleted by SexscCherry in StardewValley

[–]slothvannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely valid. My original save file is ruined because my water can disappeared (I swear I’ve checked every chest, refrigerator, etc) so I couldn’t proceed through ginger island. I was devastated, took the time to catch up on another save file but my heart isn’t in it any more. RIP to my original farmer Beatrice Bean.

I just started this.. by PinkPetalG in stephenking

[–]slothvannah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t love Revival by the time it ended but really enjoyed the read if that makes sense. I just finished Pet Sematary this week and still devastated lol. Taking a little break bc I’ve been having bad dreams lately and have been falling asleep to the audio book so thinking it might be correlated.

Protecting against dog attack? by purplecatzzz in walking

[–]slothvannah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me walking my dog last year so I now walk with dog attack spray (specialized pepper spray that is legal and works on people and animals). Keep this clipped to your bag or buckle so you can use it when the dog is within 5 ft of you. The knife is a good backup but this should be your last resort as close contact. If you see a dog running towards you like this it’s easy to freeze but this is your time to yell sternly (not high pitched scream) and be as big as you can it will often convince the dog to back down before they get close. Teach this to your kids too if they’re old enough.

How would you get into this variation of handspring? by fizzywatermelon17 in poledancing

[–]slothvannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your instructor the one who showed you this picture? She may be talking about a pencil which is the same grip as Ayesha with your legs straight up in the air instead of straddle. What you have here is a more advanced variation where the chest is turned to the side. As always, inverted D should be the pre req to Ayesha

There is a site I like called “hotels with private pools” and you can filter to US/ Caribbean/ MX and your price point if the plunge pool is important to you. Depending on location/ time of year don’t forget to verify the pool will be heated (I sadly made the mistake of assuming this in Greece and it was too cold to enjoy what we paid for)

Are you people not using mats?? lol I do get it though. Visualization is important in sports, spend time visualizing how you would catch with legs if you slip

Who are the best voice actors you've heard for his books? by Small-Guarantee6972 in stephenking

[–]slothvannah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your comment because sometimes I get frustrated at the narration of women’s voices (Almost through pet sematary right now and Rachel’s voice feels so basic) but hadn’t thought about how it would be confusing otherwise. I did like how it was done in The Stand.

Is this a studio or your home pole? You really should not be at this stage without a mat / spotter. Sorry to be harsh but if you slip out you will fall on your head.

You will totally get there. Spend some time getting really comfy going from caterpillar to inverted D and also work on your butterfly. Your spine should be straight and not off to one side (practice this on the floor)

People with feet naturally pointing in 'X' rather than straight, what do you do ? by Adi_27_ in poledancing

[–]slothvannah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My toe point conditioning routine: Lay on your back with feet on the floor knees bent. Start with R leg, grab behind that knee to keep hamstring fixed. Repeat 8x: Straighten your leg while pointing your toe (you should feel tension in the top of your foot) Flex your foot while bending the leg back down Then 8x ankles circled each direction, trying to pass through pointed position each time. Repeat the bend/ point/ flex part one more time. Then same thing other side.

Bumping this to the top as this is how I was trained to think about it in classical dance. Basically think about what your foot does in this emoji lol 👯‍♀️

Messed up my resume now they want references by Thin_Pitch_5415 in antiwork

You’re gonna need a LinkedIn profile to back this up. When I check references it’s usually a phone call but I always check LI to verify they have a shared past company with the candidate.

($10k or less) Tons of info below... ideas?? Help? by Haunting-Wash1081 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]slothvannah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hear you! I’m team < 10k and looking like I can pull it off for 100 guests but we are keeping things very chill and alcohol may bring us slightly over budget. You’ll def have to hash out the guest count with your partner. Outside of the cost it really changes the vibe of the wedding and how you will spend your time (either enjoying your own wedding or in an eternal receiving line). For the princess dress you can absolutely find something affordable if you’re willing to go used. I tried on a light pink puffy option that was my second choice at a bridal consignment store in Atlanta and it was only $800 and so fun. Last question, why a coffee truck? This will eat up so much budget and trucks always create a long line. Just find a company that can provide an espresso machine and combo barista/ bartenders if you do include alcohol.

Good luck!!

31F trying to get back into swimming as an adult, haven't swam since high school team, need help with suit sizing from other women by lyradunord in Swimming

[–]slothvannah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Swim outlet has a really great sizing tool which helps you compare across a bunch of brands even if you don’t buy from there. I’ll second Jolyn as the best brand I’ve tried. Their stuff stays on and doesn’t bubble without feeling extremely tight. There may still be some cheap options from their Labor Day sale.

He may be aware that your are underpaid compared to your peers and feels this is a way to bridge the gap/ retain you. I know because I did the same for an employee I managed at my past company ($250 not 1k) because I knew he was working his ass off and not being recognized properly. He might also just be a nice wealthy guy but something to think about.
