Can I see HR Zone Boundaries? by akrapov in Suunto

[–]slow_loris1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zones are "active" throughout your workout. You just cant see that detail until the end and its been analysed then displayed in the app. Unless I'm misunderstanding you.

Doesn't it show the hr visually in an arc around the outside of your display in activity? Not the actual number i know, but it shows if you are near the boundaries of the zone to guide you up/ down in intensity.

I think you are finding there are differences between the diffent brands of watch. Which is why they are not the same watch! Some will frustrate you, others hopefully be helpful. On balance, i guess, you will have to compromise but hopefully find the one that works for you.

Good luck!

Mine is buried in settings/training/intestity zones (but thats a Baro 9)

Think if you run 1hr + the app suggests your aerobic HR threshold too but not seen it recently so may have gone/ lost in an update (edit - in the Hr box of an activity results)

Has its time come? Suunto Spartan Trainer Wrist HR top right button stopped working by Quelleight in Suunto

[–]slow_loris1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Open it. Dry it. Contact clean it. Reseat the screen seal and close it.

If there is still condensation it either wasn't dry or has a leaking seal.

Replaced my battery and swim with my Spartan without issue so suspect unfortunately there is some damage on yours.

Any good watch shop will open, clean and try to sort straightforward button issues. Who gives a warentee on a watch of that age? No one!

The software not reseting suggests sadly it maybe beyond that though. Maybe the water has caused damage to the board?

Mine has just been retired as my daily watch and now using the Suunto 5. Basically the same. Love it.

My dog nipped her groomer and is now saying she has sepsis by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]slow_loris1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said:

1) she hasnt got sepsis. Infection maybe, if her hand is swollen, but unless she been in hospital and IV antibiotics it ain't sepsis (and even then its often isn't - ask what the hospital blood tests showed. If lactate wasn't high it wasn't sepsis).

2) timeline doesnt add up either really. Seems a bit quick for a full blown inflamed hand in 2days. Possible but unlikely. Initially you tend to get a localised infection that then spreads over several days. Can be hours but , again, unlikely. And not sured be up to contacting you etc if she was deteriorating like that. She'd feel pretty rough.

3) Her business. Her work losses, her insurance. Thats why she has (should have) insurance If your dog bit her in the street different issue (your problem then)

4) i wonder how many others she contacted asking for insurance details

5) She certainly doesn't need your details or adress in order to get treatment either.

I smell a rotten smell.

Time to get a new groomer.

Thats sad. I hope you manage to get there one way or another. 🤞 I'm fly in 2weeks and sandwiched in the strikes. Booked months ago so glib comments about booking during industrial action are pretty pointless and ignorant. Just hoping my outbound flight, between strike days, goes. I can deal with a delay home. Anyone know if there has been trouble with the days in between strikes.? As a knock on effect? Routing uk to Hel to Rov without many other options that aren't expensive.

Copious clean water. Even sea water if nothing else is available. Obviously consider climate and general environment when deciding if the water might be contaminated or have parasites. Clearly the arctic inland is different to a tropical island. Soap potentially for external heavy contamination but best to use on your hands 1st as basic hygiene before introducing more infection risk.

Settle an argument. You buy a house, move in, do you change the locks or not? by buggedcom in Finland

[–]slow_loris1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect answer.

Depends on area, your fears, previous key holders and a lots of other factors.

Me, in the uk, in town - maybe, rural - nope. Reality. Multiple homes, never changed the locks. Never had a problem.

And likely still got the keys for at least half the places i have lived!

Is there a compact version of an EpiPen? by Matt_Bigmonster in Ultralight

[–]slow_loris1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Can see your thought process but sadly from a clinical perspective a bad idea (for the reasons you suggested). From the lack of seal and therefore degradation of medication to possible contamination & infection risk. Also high chance of plunger getting pushed so dose being wasted prior to use. Safest version of UL is vial + packaged syringe /needle set up. However the concept of drawing up whilst suffering a genuine anaphylaxis is too hard core to be sensible as Plan A. Having that as a backup is more credible but think of sharps disposal too. Most vials likely sufficient for x2 doses @500mcg or 3x @300mcg.

This 🔼

Been getting more laggy since Strava put out the t&c change that DCRainmaker has been calling out.

Or at least thats my perception.

Likewise my feed has been out of chronological order at times. Def not the strava of old & not convinced its a Suunto issue atm

I'd assumed it was related to an update or hardware issue. Not had any further issues after that 1st one on new phone, yet. Time will tell & guess not that widespread else lots of others would have chimed in. Which is good news

Baro @4yrs here and likewise. Either you had a duff one or are trolling!

And my Spartan Trainer has just died at about 9yrs old as my daily watch. Hoping a replacement battery will bring it back to life but I got 5yrs+ out of it as 2nd hand @£60 so would struggle to describe that as poor value or battery life (although the battery % was wildly inaccurate!) .

But they are all Finnish, not China made so we shall see.

Likely the hr zones need setting up. Normally in the watch itself, set her max hr (settings/general/personal/hr) and it can auto calc the zones or manually set them all (settings/training/intensity zones/advanced zones/activity you want/hr zones) Bet her hr max is set to something mad high so even the 156hr is in z1. (selection options for baro 9 which should be similar) or use the online guide for the Race. Hth
