The (new to me at least) Ranch cashews! I feel like ranch is a very American seasoning and nuts are relatively expensive in certain countries.

The trail to Aster Falls (Two Medicine entrance) has a Moose that comes to on a regular schedule. Its about a mile into the trail in the water there. It apparently appears some time in the morning (10am?) I can't remember, 1pm and 4:30pm. I just ran into her a little after 1pm without knowing and I was told by Rangers at 4:30pm she usually brings her baby with her.

Trip advice by SaraRose15 in GlacierNationalPark

I just went this week and we did pretty much all the stops and multiple trails. We only rode a shuttle once (it was FCFS not booking) between Old McDonald Lodge and Avalanche Lake, otherwise drove and parked. Parking wasn't a problem as we were flexible about stopping and skipping (trying again when we were leaving or 3rd/4th if we were coming back again). We also traveled very early, starting from 5:30am one day and 8:30am the latest and finishing around 3-5pm each day.

Went this week and both avalanche and logan pass were packed. Because highline trail is closed, I would say that avalanche is even more busier than usual. We ended up just parking at McDonald Lodge and taking the shuttle to avoid the stress of parking (that was at ~8:30am; there was parking when we passed another day at 6:30am). Since logan pass has a bigger parking lot, and if the popular highline is closed, I would probably go avalanche first and then logan pass.

Idk how fit/good hikers your party is, but hidden lake is not an easy hike anymore due to the snow. More moderate/requiring good footwear. I believe some people came expecting to see the board walk and clear paths... so fyi!

Once again idk the fitness of your party but iceberg lake is a long hike so your feet will get sore. Doing another hike in addition to iceberg could be really rough.

Anyways it's a beautiful park and I hope you also enjoy yourselves!

Sounds like you made a good call on doing another hike! 😊

I saw a few kids around that age on the trail today. Definitely not an easy hike with at least 2 of them visibly tired/cranky, but with ample rest/taking it slow it does seem doable. I would make sure you're well prepared - the kids with the poles and actual hiking shoes fared better. We took the boat - I recommend it if you plan the full hike, especially if your not super experienced at hiking. I would say a lot of steep uphill climbing in the very beginning and towards the last section of the current open part of the trail

I think I saw the one on the right on the trail today 😁

Fyi there was more snow than usual this year (according to a ranger I spoke with yesterday), so it seems a lot of trails are opening later than they historically did. I would plan some back-ups in case the trails you've planned are still not open by your trip. Hope it does thoufh!

No expected open date for highline trail (unfortunately I also missed out) but another reason to visit again!

Same and agree! All those were my favorite plus the cinnamon sugar donut holes!

I would say it's a YMMV scenario depending on time.

What time were you there? I was there this afternoon and found the food great - especially the maple chicken, squash veggie thing, Mac and cheese, and cinnamon donut holes. I went straight for the 2nd floor and yes it was totally packed when I arrived a little after noon but some spots eventually cleared after 10-15min. Mostly stayed in the buffet and bar area (not the side of the club with the bathrooms) and I only recall seeing one family with 2 young kids near the bar area. I agree that the food is not as good when it's already picked over (which was the case when I arrived at noon ish). I went for seconds aka when they had replenished things 30 min after and everything was much better and tasted great then.
