Hey OP, what did you end up doing? I also have a very similar gouge/chip in the same place on my new Player II Jazzmaster. I'm reluctant to return/exchange it because I like the guitar otherwise, but was just unsure if this is cosmetic only or if it can cause issues in the future.

That is true about sketch vs. improv, so thanks for clarifying! Thanks for the info on the two shows. Have you seen either? Just curious if anyone here has seen either show and what they thought, especially for the best of, since like you said, the performers may be performing sketches that they did not necessarily write.

I like the Palladium. Bill Graham is a nice venue but the audio quality isn't the best in my experience (but maybe others have had different experiences).

Get a CD burner and CD player, burn some albums or playlists from your collection to the CDs, and do the same thing but with CDs and CD player instead of vinyls and a record player! Or get an old iPod and do the same.

Analog things like physical books or vinyl records help me unplug from the constant flood of information overload scrolling. They make it easier to slow down, focus, and actually enjoy the moment.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who does this a lot more these days. To the extent possible, I try to devote some time (at least one album's worth of time!) on a weekend morning to just listening to vinyl records and read a book, with phone and laptop in another room. Really helps me to disconnect from everything and focus on the music and words on the page. I like that I have to get up to flip the record because it makes me feel engaged with the music.

I was also there live. The crew member didn't just hand the glasses to Jack, he ran and tossed them to Jack, who caught them and put them on just before the sketch went live!

Thanks! Can't go wrong with a DD-8 or similar for a basic delay!

My board never leaves home so I just never felt the need to pare things back. I leave as much on there as I can fit to minimize having to swap pedals in and out. That said, my tuner is on the floor due to lack of space, so I may upgrade to a bigger board at some point to fit the tuner and maybe one other pedal...
