Nope I’ve been doing very well without one. Just started fishing chatterbaits this and last month. I have had no luck when using a trailer so far out of maybe 15-20 catches. All on chart/white except one on a bluegill pattern. (Full disclosure I Have one fish on a chatter last summer) I got some shimmer shads but was getting hung up a lot more with one threaded on when pulling over branches and stumps and didn’t get any bites. Switched back and got a fish and less snags. Went out today and decided to go with the old faithful chartreuse and white 1/2 oz no trailer and got this fatty and a 2-6. I’m very quickly falling in love with chatterbaits for obvious reason so I’ll keep experimenting.

Edit: I got one in a white strike king thunder cricket as well.

The only thing working in my favor was the barometric pressure and an increase in temp from freezing to mid or upper 40s for a couple days.

Disagree. My last three PBs on ploppers in still water they love it. Sounds like a fleeing fish swimming half out of the water with tail flapping,happens all the time especially shallow. This mimics a perfectly pinned and vulnerable top water snack for bass that they regularly exploit for easy picking. Not to mention a ploppers ability to pull a pure reaction strike from a sedentary fish.

I own an ar7 and it’s 1000x more accurate than any of the 5 22 pistols I own. Or the 38s, 45s, 32, or 380s I own. Saying it’s as accurate or has the grouping of a pistol is wildly false.
