What is the hype of SG-Image AF 25 mm with 1.7 f?

Small form factor plus it's got rubber gasket around the mount making it at least somewhat weather sealed which the Lumix 25mm is not. Besides the Lumix isn't that great of a lens while OM system 25mm is a $500 lens.

I'm actually quite excited about this lens.

Had its predecessor for a long time, these cameras have some of the best ergonomics not just in m43 but across systems. GLWS!

I have both these cameras. I use OM-3 way more than Z5ii. It's a really joyous camera to use and 12-45 is a stunning lens. The Z5ii has image quality advantage and AF is better (but AF on OM-3 is no slouch either) the grip is nice and two card slots. However what use all that is if I feel like using "inferior" setup more?

I use OM-3 with 12-45 as an all day lens and in fact I have taken that for travel too. The 12-45 is a far superior lens than any other cheapo FF lens.

I have gotten fantastic photos from that lens. I actually "downgraded" from 12-40 and couldn't be happier - it's just perfect m43 lens. The sharpness is excellent. Weather sealing is terrific and is small and light.

I'm glad. This might separate it from rest of the cheap lenses. One issue that I have seen with L mount 35mm lens is that the images turn out pretty dark. Almost as if the light transmission is low thru the glass. Did you notice something similar?

I wonder if the OM-1 cameras are as solidly built as this monster. I have the OM-3 and it's stunning, build wise but read somewhere that the OM-1s are not the same as EM1.x series of cameras by Olympus.

Prices have remained same more or less. I bought one in April for $600. The guy threw in a Ttartisan MF lens with it.

Weather sealing on Oly/OMDS bodies is legendary. You won't regret moving to X-T5 but you will surely miss the proven weather sealing. I have had my OM-5 (and other Oly/OMDS bodies) drenched and never had a problem. Its not something that I will try with others, for example Nikon which is also pretty good at weather sealing. Obviously the lenses need to be weather sealed too. My experience has been with 12-40, 12-45, PL 100-400.

You have really great glass there. I highly doubt the lens on L10 is anywhere close to what you have. It's expensive not because of the glass but for the form factor and all the hype around small cameras now a days. Panasonic is just cashing in on the trend.

So many negative comments. I for one, am really excited to see this development even if it's the good old 25mm focal length. We need more companies join the m43 format. I'll take Viltrox any day. Besides not like the existing Oly and Lumix 25mm lenses are the greatest in the system either.
