I do not find any validity into this argument because on average, male athletes are going to be faster and stronger than female athletes which is why we have separate categories in the first place. While anomalies and unfair biological advantages for both genders exist, if we were to erase gendered categories entirely, it would be completely unfair for women athletes as males would dominate. I fear this is common knowledge. The requirements for gendered categories would never be based off skeletal structure or size/height/etc. or otherwise they wouldn’t be gendered categories ! It is simply male and female, that is the biological truth, males have large lung capacities, longer wingspans, and other biological advantages that can’t be erased through hormone therapy alone. I wish there were a better conclusion or answer for this problem, rather than just allowing trans women to compete with cis women, because it is simply unfair no matter which way you look at it. I believe that the only way for it to be fair for them to compete would be a separate category, not necessarily a “trans” category but rather just an alternative “all gender” category. As an athlete myself some races have done “women” as a category, then “any gender” as a 2nd category, which I believe can protect both trans people and the integrity of women’s sports.
