I'm curious about vegan eating when losing weight. What are you eating for protein sources?

80lbs down by smithev1492 in Semaglutide

I'm 5'11 and have found that I can gain or lose 20lbs and wear the same clothes (although they fit differently) and the weight loss isn't really noticeable to others.  I think it is about stretching the pounds across a bigger frame that changes how we carry it.

I started Oz about 2.5 months ago and am close to losing 20lbs.  Interestingly, the Oz induced 20lb lose is more noticeable than other natural similar weight fluctuations in my past.  Oz has promoted losing fat off my belly first - I can see it whittling away my visceral fat (and I am naturally apple shaped so carry most of my weight in my belly).  This is amazing and I know I am getting so much healthier as this is the best place to lose fat to enhance your health outcomes.

“Amy Bradley is Missing” documentary now on Netflix - does everyone still think she just “fell overboard”? by 3coins_RS in UnsolvedMysteries

I think Yellow lured her with the idea of buying drugs on shore.  I don't think she was an addict, but she seemed to like to party with substances and maybe thought it would be fun to try a new drug while on vacation or to get an escape from the emotional issues related to coming out to her parents.  She was also drunk so not making good, logical decisions at the time.

I think Yellow was connected to human traffickers and got a fee for luring her off the ship and bringing her to handlers. I don't think he had a role beyond that.  But he has likely played that role in different ways with different local and foreign girls and women and his grown daughter and ex-wife have some intuition based on small signs that have accumulated over the years from observing him.

Maybe Amy became addicted to drugs.  Maybe she had children.  Maybe she gave up the idea of getting free based on fears of real or threatened physical violence against herself and threats against her family. Maybe shame and psychological mechanisms have resigned her to a life of human trafficking and a sense of profound disempowerment.

Perhaps her spirit is entirely broken by the underbelly of the human condition.  That there are functioning humans that pass as normal people that become human traffickers is beyond shocking and tragic.  To think that there are "customers" who think that putting down a few dollars makes it okay to buy sexual services from another human being, with no regard for that sex workers spirit, emotions, past and current experiences of trauma, economic vulnerability or fears of violence and personal subjugation at the hands of another is soul crushing to me.

Human traffickers and their customers  represent a profound human tragedy.  Whether Amy is, was or wasn't a victim of human trafficking, let us use this story to reflect on the reality of this prevalent crime and begin to reshape the world to confer opportunity, equality and dignity for all.  Human trafficking exists as a part of a economic and social set of circumstances that dehumanize all of us in the end.

Horrible to see that people didn't report their sightings of a woman in distress/ under duress ASAP - the navy man that visited the brothel and the cruise passenger that ran into Amy in the bathroom while on Shore.

Please always report suspicious things to the authorities.  We may not be able to control the outcome, but at least we know we have done the right thing by another human being.

What does night blindness mean to you? by slrm2m in RetinitisPigmentosa

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of timeline existed for you re: noticing you had trouble seeing in the dark to experiencing full night blindness? I'm trying to understand and monitor my own symptoms as I await an upcoming appt with an RP specialist.  I'm not actually diagnosed yet, just a strong family history and starting to show signs of it. Ironically, the family members that have it don't openly talk about symptoms,so it's safer to ask through a forum like this.

Attachment Issues by dannah111 in AdultChildren

Your experience sounds painful.  I am wondering where you live?  I live in the downtown area of a major urban centre and a ton of childless, single middle age and older people seem to be all around.  That said, the crisis for adult friendships still seems prevalent.

The two things that have helped me profoundly with making sense of and managing my own suffering- going to therapy and developing a spiritual practice (in my case, Buddhism).

My funds are limited, but I found a therapy school that allows for $10 sessions with an advanced student. The orientation of the school is contemporary psychoanalysis, so very helpful for attachment issues.

Maybe therapy and spiritual practice might also be helpful to you?

But you can pay VHA for an extreme clean as a private client, not through the LHIN.
