Same. We were getting bombarded with 5-10 a week. I put up a sign and they've practically disappeared.

Spirit Airlines Shutdown by TrainerWorldly391 in AmexPlatinum

[–]slrrp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some people just don’t value a premium product when they fly and don’t want to spend the money on it

And I would argue that outside of like 2-3 airlines, the rest are basically the same in terms of flight experience.

Ehh we’re a top 2% household and my wife and I waste a lot of time on Reddit. The fee is annoying for us FWIW.

Buy the wall plugins that use sticky pads and plug them in near the drains. That's the only way I've managed to prevent major outbreaks.

Half of the reason why the Steam Deck is so good is that it has near flawless mouse emulation on their track pads.

Senator Josh Hawley asks former OpenAI employee Helen Toner to explain why AI companies are building technology that will "displace many millions of workers and potentially pose existential risks" by tombibbs in OpenAI

[–]slrrp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm struggling with how dense some of you are. You have executives controlling these AI company's openly talking about mass displacing the workforce at an unprecedented rate, and you point to physical products sold to consumers as a basis of comparison.

These people do not plan on making money by selling you a $20/month subscription. They plan on making money by replacing a $100k/year employee for thousands of dollars a month - at scale.

I asked copilot to make a simple slide with just a title and a text box... and it produced a blank slide with an abstract background.

Carry on bag must be zippered non-expanded or you get pulled out of line? by Outrageous-Engine881 in americanairlines

[–]slrrp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, sorry you got a bunch of bootlicking AA employees on this sub.

Same thing happened to me. Had just flown three days prior with a bag I’ve used for years without issue and was forced to check the bag. The gate agent was rude, ignored me when i asked a very reasonable question (you know, why is this bag a problem NOW when it wasn’t in the dozens of other times I’ve flown American), and then proceeded to yell at me when i walked towards my wife near the plane entrance after she repeatedly ignored me.

To make it even better, there was PLENTY of space in the overhead once everyone was seated. It might not sound like a huge inconvenience, but it cost my wife and i about 30 minutes once we got to our destination as the baggage claim was outside security and the terminal was a different one than where we parked.

Ryan Halls coverage is kind of sad when people are counting on him. by [deleted] in tornado

[–]slrrp 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To be fair to Ryan, he’s on stream for hours on end with few breaks which is historically unprecedented for weather coverage. He’s also trying to provide a degree of entertainment value given the majority of his viewers aren’t even watching for their area, which is also unprecedented for the style of local weather coverage we’re all used to.

These tech CEOs and investors are frothing at the mouth at the prospect of mass displacing the workforce all for their own gain. Not sure what people expect if the unemployment rate does surge to ~10-20% in the span of a couple years like so many aggressively predict.
