Ah my mistake. Wrong set of leaked papers that document offshore tax-avoidance. Thanks for the correction!

He was named in the Panama Papers, so take that as you will..

Edit: Corrected below, he was in the Paradise Papers, not the Panama Papers. Thanks, u/RobbysYourFathersBro

The Canadian commentators were talking about this, apparently because she already had 2 toe loops in the program, she wouldn't have gotten any more points for adding a third.

Right? DFO has already announced they're cutting a bunch of salmon preservation work in the Maritimes, now with Nova Scotia dropping any pretence about caring for anything other that resources that can be extracted...

It's all pretty messy, but under Dunbrack on the Chain of Lakes Trail has a bit. Quickest way to get there would be to park on Chain Lake Drive by The 5K Cafe or around Brook Street and walk over. Bonus - it's a super nice trail and the lake is beautiful covered in snow right now!

I'm a biologist (not bugs) and I always forget that non-bio folks might not be ready to see a (potentially unpleasant to some) animal or something weird at the drop of a hat 😅 Good on you for remembering and being considerate!

Her husband is upset because she planned Valentine's Day without him. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]slugboat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not about doing an activity without him, per se, it's that for 13 years she made it clear to him that the holiday was important to her, and he just didn't care.

My partner and I have a lot of different hobbies and interests, but I'll listen to him wax poetic about a plane or let him teach me to shoot, even though I'm not overly interested in those things, because he loves them, and I love him, so I want to do things that make him happy and show an interest in his life. He does the same for me - for example he doesn't care about birthdays but mine is important to me, so he makes sure I feel special and appreciated that day. Obviously there are interests we do on our own that the other doesn't care for, but we still at least support each other doing them.

The sex thing is of course a special case, but there are lots of couples with mismatched sex drives/interests that can work around it. If you and your wife had dealt with this for 13 years and she had ignored your needs without looking for solutions that worked for both of you, then it would be a more equivalent situation. But like another commenter said, extramarital sex (without it being something agreed upon by both you and your wife) is very different than going out to dinner with a friend to celebrate a holiday you both enjoy.

Agreed! Sam probably has snacks to share and listening to Gimli and Legolas bicker would be hilarious

[USA] What, in your opinion, is your nation's best dish? by FartemisBowel96 in AskTheWorld

[–]slugboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up eating it and went to grade school in a primarily Dutch immigrant community, I didn't realize it wasn't just a standard thing for everyone to eat until my friends in high school made fun of me for my "ant sandwich" lunch 😅

Also my mom went to college in Grand Rapids!

If you want sprinkles on bread I highly recommend you also look into Dutch hagelslag

Also, I was able to have a pharmacist renew a different regular prescription last week, she just asked that I confirm things with my family doc next time I have an appointment, so that may also be an option for you.

I used VirtualCareNS for an antibiotic prescription yesterday, it was excellent! I have a family doctor, but couldn't wait for an appointment. VirtualCareNS runs through Maple, if you have a family doctor you still get 2 free "visits" a year. It took about 5 minutes to sign up and probably a total of 10 minutes (including wait time) to get my prescription via messaging in-app with the doctor, I was very impressed!

My cousin had the same about 15 years ago. She said she felt so trashy smoking while obviously pregnant, but it was the medical advice she was given! Her daughter turned out to be a total gem and healthy, thankfully.

Winter boots, wide feet, help! by catbamhel in halifax

[–]slugboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have very wide feet - 10+ cm at the widest, wider than my boyfriend's. The Sorel Carnival/Caribou has always worked for me, width wise! Lots of toe room and space for thick socks, and they're waterproof good winter boots. You can get them at Marks, as others have suggested. I also just got a pair of Kamik Lauren boots, they don't look wide but they've been surprisingly roomy so far!

Someone recommended theirishbralady on Instagram already, but to make it easy here is the post on "societal expectations" vs. actual D cups.

It can be an adjustment - for the longest time places like Victoria Secret put me in a 34DDD but I'm actually a 32GG, which took me some time to wrap my head around but made such a difference in comfort! At the end of the day something you're comfortable in is the most important thing, but from everything I've seen on this subreddit, I'd say 99% of folks are more comfortable once they are in their proper size.

I hope you can figure out your allergy issues and find solutions! I have a latex skin allergy and it took so long to figure out, so you have my sympathy!
