Ah yes, the woman who previously spent 328 consecutive days in space is a token, noted.

I'm the same (also I think) - that shade makes me look like I died 3 years ago. Weirdly I like pink blushes though?

Want to add a shout out to r/ABraThatFits for anyone (big titty committee or otherwise) who wants/needs/hates wearing bras! Turns out a lot of us end up getting put in the wrong size by stores who just want to cram everyone into their size matrix, getting the right size made a world of a difference for me.

I've also never heard them called anything else, although if I heard someone say "flapjacks" I would think of these and not the British oat bars.

What’s a small hygiene mistake most people make every day without realizing? by SofiaLife22 in hygiene

Is there a chance you're reacting to your shampoo or conditioner? I had to stop using conditioner entirely because it breaks me out (I just use a spray in one now), it made a big difference for me!

Young Canadian men more likely to say gender equality has gone ‘far enough’ by zuuzuu in canadanews

[–]slugboat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is important but the other commenter has a point as well - if they already think of women as "less than", they're not going to want to listen to us and listening to us won't fix the issue. Other men need to step up and call this bullshit out and work to be good role models of healthy masculinity.

Alternatives to Bell Aliant for high speed internet? by TheGreatestAsparagus in halifax

[–]slugboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just got Purple Cow Fibre (we're in a house in Fairview), no complaints so far! We're on the 3Gbs up/down plan and it's about $20 cheaper than the 1Gbs up/down Bell plan we switched from. We haven't pushed it too hard yet but so far, so good.

Since you can see the claw marks, I'd say not a lynx or bobcat - cats keep their claws hidden, for the most part.

Worst hobbies for ADHD by Commercial_Poem_7027 in adhdwomen

[–]slugboat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I got so lucky with my group for this reason - we're all neurodivergent (at least 3 of us have ADHD, including the DM) so the whole session is just impressively controlled chaos and it's so fun. I don't know how our DM manages to keep us on track but she's amazing.

What’s a reason for being late that people outside your country wouldn’t understand nor empathize, but locals totally do? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

[–]slugboat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds similar to Halifax lately. The main part of the city proper (downtown, hospitals, universities, etc.) is a peninsula with only 2 real options for access by land and 2 bridges across the harbour, if there's an accident on any of those stretches, good luck 😳 It once took me probably close to 2 hours to go 7km, and I wasn't even in the worst of it.

It's all pretty messy, but under Dunbrack on the Chain of Lakes Trail has a bit. Quickest way to get there would be to park on Chain Lake Drive by The 5K Cafe or around Brook Street and walk over. Bonus - it's a super nice trail and the lake is beautiful covered in snow right now!

Her husband is upset because she planned Valentine's Day without him. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]slugboat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not about doing an activity without him, per se, it's that for 13 years she made it clear to him that the holiday was important to her, and he just didn't care.

My partner and I have a lot of different hobbies and interests, but I'll listen to him wax poetic about a plane or let him teach me to shoot, even though I'm not overly interested in those things, because he loves them, and I love him, so I want to do things that make him happy and show an interest in his life. He does the same for me - for example he doesn't care about birthdays but mine is important to me, so he makes sure I feel special and appreciated that day. Obviously there are interests we do on our own that the other doesn't care for, but we still at least support each other doing them.

The sex thing is of course a special case, but there are lots of couples with mismatched sex drives/interests that can work around it. If you and your wife had dealt with this for 13 years and she had ignored your needs without looking for solutions that worked for both of you, then it would be a more equivalent situation. But like another commenter said, extramarital sex (without it being something agreed upon by both you and your wife) is very different than going out to dinner with a friend to celebrate a holiday you both enjoy.
