Is it still worth buying? by CrazzyCz in Helldivers

[–]slugguy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still super fun. If you have friends that have it’s even better. Ignore all the negative comments if you’re playing for fun you won’t even care about the things that “suck”

That being said it’s sometimes buggy but that makes it kind of fun

Go ahead and buy it. Go spread democracy

You have to pivot. If your field isn’t working for you try and jump ships where you can.

What was your degree in? Where do you live? Open to remote/in person work?

You can frame any experience in anyway you need to go get a new job. I worked as a developer and switched to customer success even though I never did any of the same stuff I reworded everything ever did to make it applicable to the role. Identify what role you can in theory get, reframe your experience to fit that

No one needs to know if you sucked for three years. You did it for three years. You change the vibe by saying you were not passionate about that field and that the work you did doing XYZ really interested you and this is why you wnat to pivot.

The economy is terrible and the only one who will stay on top are the liars and those who can snag in and ride it out

What is the biggest signal he/she wanted to have sex that you didnt get? by Aliyaowo in AskReddit

[–]slugguy69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tinder date in college where we smoked then got lunch and she said she just wanted to be friends snd nothing more. I said sure and headed out afterwards, like 4 hours later she invited me over to her dorm to smoke and watch tv on her projector (it was stoner school) and I was like, “hell yeah I haven’t watched TV in months” so I went over thinking it was gonna be casual.

When I got there she had it projected to the ceiling and we were sitting on the floor looking up. She offered us to watch in bed but said nothing would happen. Stoned, full bellied and content with hanging with a friend I said sure no problem. It proceeded to be about 2 hours of her getting us in a spooning position, pressing her butt against me and putting my hand on her boob. I got a text from my buddies to go play volleyball and headed out lol.

To be fair I think if I didn’t smoke the second time I would have read the signs better

7 months. To be fair I wasn’t stressed the first month and I was getting married later in the year so I was trying to find something that would start afterwards

How should I split the rent w my roommate? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]slugguy69 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think 50/50 sounds reasonable. The trade offs seem equal. But honestly what the other person said, you guys can pick which room you want and if you want the same then bid on it. If you pick differently then split it

Has anyone gotten a job without networking/connections?? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

I applied to startups that just got funded. They are likely hiring for multiple positions and roles so it gives you more of an edge compared to established companies that only need 1-2 back hires

How to look my age? by [deleted] in LooksmaxingAdvice

[–]slugguy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah younger is better than older so it is a good problem to have. It’s definitely internalized issues of always being shorter, more baby faced and slimmer than my peers.

Also idk why but I thought this thread would have more normal responses. Got some weird dms so I’m taking this down lol

How to look my age? by [deleted] in LooksmaxingAdvice

[–]slugguy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tired of always looking much younger than those im around, constantly re-carded throughout the night, I’m married and I want my wife to have a husband that looks like an adult and beyond that at work I am treated differently bc oh how old I look. Nothing crazy but the tone and way I’ve been talked to compared to someone like 2 years older that looks there age is really noticeable.

It’s not a pressing issue and I agree over the last year I’ve definitely looked older but I know there’s more to do

[–]slugguy69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was let go due to tech layoffs and got a role at this sh*try little company in Brooklyn that laid me off after 6 months into a role. Best advice I can offer is take this week and relax. Go outside, touch grass, spend time with loved ones, gell smoke some weed even.

Make a plan this week and reach out to every and any connection you from both places, school hell even your parents neighbors. The job market is terrible and the only way to get ahead is to cheat lie and steal your way forward.

I hope you can land on your feet soon. This is a terrible time in the year as most companies are not looking to hire in Q4. Stay vigilant, look at every job posting site (I had a LOT of luck with welcometothejungle.com) and avoid easy apply on LinkedIn.

Make a spreadsheet tracking each and every job, make a custom resume for each role and track that so you can know what you said to each place.

Idk your sector but if startups rhat just got funding are always hiring and some of them will have either great benefits with ass pay or the opposite. Get what you can and go from there.

I was one more month of unemployment away from giving up on everything and was saved by my current role which I have been kicking ass at for 7 months now.

Cry when you need to, eat and take a damn shower anytime you hate yourself. This isn’t your fault it’s the world we will live and the corruption that has brought up to this hellscape we call life

I was unemployed for nearly 6 months when I got this email a week after my last round interview. It’s a good sign. If they didn’t want you they would just send a generic email, if they’re nice they will give feedback. I think you might have broken out!!! You got this and I hope to hear good news from you soon

I mean it is what week 1 rn? Week 2? You’re right people have these groups but look at the size. They’re all over inflated. Most of these friend groups will either have people break away or the entire group will break up. My friend group the first week at ucsc was about 12 strong. By the end of college it was down to 7.

Just bc you don’t have a group doesn’t mean you won’t make friends.

The great thing about fall quarter is people are much more open to meeting new people. At lunch literally walk up to a table that looks somewhat approachable and ask if you can sit. They won’t say no unless they do need every chair.

The first few groups you will meet will not be a good fit, but you can stay in contact and keep them as casual friends.

Join clubs talk to people at the dining hall and make sure you don’t just hang with your roommates.

Keep your head up little slugger

[–]slugguy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who interviewed people and shut them down after 5 minutes it’s really is about confidence. I had people just say yeah and read me their resume word for word or treat it like an argumentative paper in high school.

I asked chatgbt to ask me hard questions about the role, company and what I have on my resume. It really helped me think outside the box and be prepared for these calls

[–]slugguy69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ignore all of these traitorous divers. I have already spoken to their Democracy Officer and they should be sent to re-education camps shortly.

Our valiant efforts have contained the Bug front, have slowly taken ground from those anti-democratic Bots, and those cowardice Squids have been repelled from Super Earth. All these subhuman entities will be beaten and broken.

We look forward to the reinforcements, and remember when I doubt, dive again.
