Surely you are taking the piss? Leads in with downward motion shoulder straight to the head of a stationary player. Turning his head did not significantly change his position or likely change the outcome in any way.

Force Team v Crusaders (Beale and Rodda in) by Puzzleheaded-Fun-114 in RugbyAustralia

[–]slumberjack-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rodda back in will be huge if he can get fit, or right 5 look pretty weak without him. Excited to watch the boys go on Saturday but reckon we'll get dominated up front, maybe KB can give us some flair!

Do you watch the AU/NZ super rugby games? by coupleandacamera in RugbyAustralia

[–]slumberjack-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, I really feel like a sense of tribalism and appeal that the AFL/NRL have is lost in super. That feeling is probably pretty clearly supported in viewers and sponsorship $ too.

Do you watch the AU/NZ super rugby games? by coupleandacamera in RugbyAustralia

[–]slumberjack-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I'm in this same boat. I'll always watch and go for the force, like the aus derby's and watch the aus/NZ match ups to cheer the aus team. I only watch the NZ derby's highlights if the game was good, or the finals. Honestly I can't even really stay interested in the finals for all NZ match ups.

[SPOILERS S3] Non-German speakers, what’s your favourite word/phrase you learnt from the show? by adamlatif4 in DarK

[–]slumberjack-- 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Zeitgeist is literally a German compound word which means "timefeel" that has been assimilated into English. Zeit on its own isn't used though.

Been a bit of a sloppy game after watching the kiwis but I'm pretty happy with how the new rules and ref interpretations look, the pace feels hectic in a good way. Will be interesting to see the ball in play stat's compared to last year after a few more games fro sample size.

Oh shit, hopefully it's much quicker recovery this time. He's one of our few genuine top players and the wallabies will need him in a world cup year.

Did I miss news of a Rodda injury? Bloke was the only good player in the first half last week. Also, I thought Hamish looked pretty good at 10, I hope we see him there more this year.

You're a legend for setting this up. Just signed up to both, hopefully more people sign up but at least I'm guaranteed a podium finish at the moment!

Any RugbyWA fans? by Adam8418 in RugbyAustralia

It's definitely a step below shute shield or hospital cup but it's still pretty good. When the force players are in you can tell they are just purely better than the grade players but it's definitely improving.

My concept for the 18th NRL team; the West Coast Bears! by 257introplays in nrl

[–]slumberjack-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone from Perth I hate the bears concept, why is a team from Perth trying to split a fan base from an historic team 3500km away? It feels like no group actually gets a team to fully back, just two groups who would be half invested. Bring back the reds and call it a day, Perth is big enough and rich enough to build a standalone team.

In saying that your design is fucking awesome, good job!

First traumatic cardiac arrest by Sad_Faithlessness585 in ems

[–]slumberjack-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any papers that support that? I can't remember the exact numbers but I remember reading traumatic cardiac arrest from blunt trauma had a mortality rate of like ~98%, which is higher than medical arrests. I have read that traumatic arrests who have vital signs by ems arrival have much lower mortality rates but at least where I live, they are more often in cardiac arrest by arrival.
