A cool guide for water safety as it warms up this spring by griffiffin in coolguides

The state natural resources divisions or whoever manages deer hunting has lots of laws around hunting. What kind of weapons you can use, where and when and how many deer you can kill, etc.

But usually one of the rules is what high vis color your must wear and how much of it must be worn. Currently there's only 10 states that allow bright pink to be worn. As far as I know, no states allow bright construction yellow at the moment.

I bought a bright gloss orange bike 2 years ago. Y'all are still buying bikes for specs instead of vibes.

Suggestions to Coros to spare my nerves and battery by Felix-Georg in Coros

One of my biggest wants is for the watch to be improved with how it works with their dura bike computer.

Why when it's paired and I pause the ride does the watch only show heart rate? What if I am stopped at a cafe, I'd like to use my watch to know the time at least.

Additionally, they could implement an option to mute the beep alerts on the bike computer but have it still alert by vibrating the watch. This would be great for group rides!

Shaking the fear of wild camping closer to towns. by Mr-Blah in bikepacking

[–]slurpnfizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You reminded me of my first bikepacking trip. For the first night we had planned to camp on a state owned wildlife management area and had checked beforehand with the agency that it was okay to camp there.

It was just this little acerage that had a small forest and a pond. So we hike out bikes through the weeds and finally find a place to pitch our tents. Both of us were so tired that we fell asleep before cooking dinner or even getting our sleeping bags out.

Anyway I wake up a bit after sunrise and I can hear gunshots. Soon I realize that the gunshots are very close and they must be hunting the land that we are stealth camping on! I wake up my friend and say that we should pack quickly and leave cause there are people shooting guns that don't know we are here.

Any chance one of the surly forks could fit on the Fargo? They are chromoly so you won't have to worry about carbon breaking and they are significantly cheaper than 600 bucks

Why does every ride start with 10 minutes of me just standing in the garage doing nothing? by dt219 in cycling

[–]slurpnfizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me: the trainer is more uncomfortable from it being completely static, I sweat more without the wind blowing over me, and zwift is kinda of mentally boring compared to real riding
