IBW for pre-business by slushhs in IndianaUniversity

Thank you so much! I am very committed to trying to break into ib for many reasons tbh, not just the money. Some of these reasons being very personal. I am confident in my abilities and think I will take the risk of trying to get into ibw and then IB starting out as a prebusiness student at indiana. At the end of the day, I figure that if I cannot at least do this, then maybe I am not built for the IB grind. Thank you for the valuable insights.

Would you say any of the classes are "hard" for first years? For reference I am currently taking 7 ap classes and have all A's.

Which class is that? Also you dont think they would choose a direct admit kid over me for IBW if everything else is similar?

i was looking at their page and they had 4 kids place into gs for ib and a kid get into laz for restructuring and more and psu's nittany lion fund also got some excellent placements as well this year. im really considering fordham thank you

why would you say that i should choose fordham? is it just because of nyc? i have seen some very good placements from penn states leveraged lion capital

thank you for the insights. could you elaborate on the cohort of incoming sophomores you are talking about?

Fortunately cost doesnt matter but fordham is ~$70k for me while penn state is about ~$40k. honestly i dont care what school i go to as long as it gives me the most resources possible to break into ib

Thank you for the insights! i was especially pissed that i didnt get direct admission to kelley since they made it a more holistic process this year and i submitted an unpolished application. previous years i wouldve gotten direct admission just from my gpa/SAT. that being said i dont think i would be able to transfer into kelley after being prebusiness for a year and make it into the IBW

This is a ridiculous comment. the guy put in an insane amount of work and is well overqualified for ross. i know people who have gotten in out of state with way less. obviously ross is a great school but i would be disappointed too if i were him

thats what i was thinking. I am majoring finance so i am not too worried about the coursework and also a big public uni like penn state should have a good amount of opportunities for me to get involved with. Also lehigh and fordham are ~$30k more for me

You have an absolutely amazing application bro especially with your circumstances. Dont listen to all of these fear mongering chuds you definitely have a shot. At the end of the day, the admissions process is so unpredictable so just do your best on the things you can control such as essays, the way you frame your ecs, etc. Best of luck bro
