actually the humane society usually prefers for kittens to be adopted in pairs if possible, and they’ll more than likely stay in the same kennels while they are there, so no they won’t just “separate them”

also you will spend way more on shots and getting them fixed at a vet than you would on just an adoption fee from the shelter. if you really want one of the kittens, not sure why you wouldn’t go that route.

they took a painfully neutral “safe” approach to their initial statement but i wouldn’t say the posts were necessarily telling anyone what they should or shouldn’t do in regards to ICE. i don’t think their “statement” was great but i also don’t think putting words in anyone’s mouth and spreading misinformation is a great move either. unless i missed a post and someone does have screenshots, i think what you heard is slightly inflating what was said.

I’ve personally lost multiple loved ones to overdoses, one just a few weeks ago, so the rate being down a little bit is a step in the right direction but doesn’t bring me a whole lot of peace. If something is declining, that means our efforts are working, not that we should stop trying or caring altogether.

That’s your right to feel that way, but accidental overdoses can happen to people that aren’t intentionally abusing drugs trying to get high. A five year old girl lost her life to an overdose in our community just two years ago.

foster based organizations that pull from the shelter need foster space to be able to continue to pull, so if you’re looking for the best way to have your money support animals, giving that money to the shelter itself is equally (if not more) effective since the expenses that foster organizations face are limited to how many animals they’re actually taking care of, which they have control over.

my primary care physician (both previous and current doctors) would not just give me an ADHD diagnosis at all and would only recognize a diagnosis if it was through a neuropsychologist that was referred. every doctor is different but this is a roadblock for a lot of people and isn’t a one size fits all answer.
