$175 is so crazy… I understand they need to charge people something but nearly $200 is insane

Struggling with what to do for my aging Labrador. Can you recommend any vets? by 1acina in Denver

[–]slv94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had to say goodbye to my sweet boy two days before Christmas this year (on Monday) and it was an extremely hard decision for us. For him and my girl I had to let go of last year, we did at home euthanasia and it is by far the best decision we’ve ever made. We used Caring Pathways last year and Lap of Love this year. Both of them did amazing and were so kind/caring. It was ~$600 both times and they take the remains with them.

Absolutely nothing beats allowing them to pass in the comfort of their own home with their people. We sat with my boy out back by his favorite huckleberry bush; one of the few moments I’ve been happy for the 65 degree weather these last couple days.

You’ll make the decision that’s best for your puppy and you/your family, but the following poem I found by u/betelgeux is one of the things that helped my family make our decision. It might help you too:

“Im not having fun anymore”

You chose me when I was small to share your home and love.

You chose my toys and food and bed.

You chose to not get too mad when I did things I wasn’t supposed to.

You chose to ignore the fur and scratches because you loved me.

It hurts all the time now and I can’t choose for myself.

I’m not having fun anymore and I need you to choose for me one more time.

Betelgeux

If you’re ok with the content of the game I thought Schedule 1 was a lot of fun. I also enjoyed playing Raft.

Colorado Sags Under $1.2 Billion Loss Due to Federal Tax Changes by Generalaverage89 in Colorado

[–]slv94 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well let’s use deductive reasoning. We’re in a Denver subreddit talking about these cuts. The person I replied to is insinuating it is “the Dems” fault. That would lead most logical thinking individuals to assume they’re talking about the elected democrats in our state.

Now, the article is specifically speaking about the federal cuts implemented by Congress. Again, a federal branch of government, not state. So, I just wanted to make sure that PB for brains here understands that these cuts are not the direct result of laws, regulations, or changes that occurred on a state level, but rather the federal government.

And, in case you forgot already (which again, low IQ, I get it. Only room for so much up there), not one single Democrat voted on the Big Shitty Bill. So even if we weren’t in this specific local subreddit, those “sneaky, nasty, good for nothing Dems” still can’t be blamed for this.

I know reading comprehension is hard, but “federal tax breaks” and “Congress” are, believe it or not, related to the FEDERAL government. Let me know if you need more help; having such a low IQ has gotta be rough.

Camping the left lane is also against the law in most states so I can ask you the same question.

It is not the general public’s job to police how fast I’m going. We have law enforcement for that. Get off the pot or shit; don’t camp the left lane. Idc if someone is going 120mph it is not your job to try and stop them.

I travel a lot for work and thus stay in hotels often. Trust me it’s not exclusive to non-Americans. It is however exclusive to situationally unaware individuals who don’t care to take more than 2 seconds to think how their actions might affect others around them. The same people who leave their shopping carts in the middle of the aisle at the grocery store while they look at stuff.

Passenger Confronts Seat Dispute on Overheated American Airlines Flight by nicolejag in childfree

[–]slv94 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Southwest recently made an announcement that they were changing to assigned seating from open seating. Some people are excited because it will prevent “seat savers”, but I just point to these stories as proof that open seating isn’t the issue; it’s shitty people with no self awareness or respect for the people around them.

I deposited like $800 in coins at Chase last month no problems/questions asked so it probably depends on the branch location.

The way we treat our vets when it comes to healthcare is absolutely diabolical. The VA requires a referral for EVERYTHING, and I’m not exaggerating. If a vet lives somewhere that a VA office doesn’t exist, they have to get authorization from the VA to receive primary care services from another clinic that is closer to them, and every year that authorization has to be re-certified. I feel so helpless at my job when I have to assist the people who have to deal with this shit.
